Maybell Quantum is seeking an experienced electrical controls and design engineer to join our multidisciplinary team and take ownership of our electrical systems and architectures. The ideal candidate can excel in a fast-paced startup environment and lead the development of our next generation systems.

Requirements

  • Degree in electrical or controls engineering or related field
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience designing control panels, PCBAs, and custom hardware solutions
  • Experience with EDA and electrical CAD tools for both PCBA and control panel layout

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of UL 508A, NFPA 79 and EN 60204-1 standards for control panel design
  • Familiarity with EMC/EMI testing requirements for worldwide distribution of electrical equipment
  • Strong background with Python and C/C++ for embedded systems
  • Experience with STM or similar microcontroller architecture
  • Functional knowledge of industrial and embedded communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, RS-422/485, Modbus RTU/TCP, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Architect and design electrical systems used to power and control cryogenic systems
  • Understand and incorporate product safety requirements for electrical design of industrial control panels and custom PCBAs
  • Design and develop custom electrical systems to expand the capabilities and meet strict packaging requirements for Maybell’s electrical control systems (power distribution, analog front-end design, microcontroller integration, communication protocols, etc.).
  • Develop and execute validation testing strategies to ensure the reliability and functionality of electrical systems
  • Work within interdisciplinary teams to meet product requirements for next generation quantum infrastructure
