About the position
The Senior Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist at MilliporeSigma plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with EHS regulations and standards. This position involves supporting EHS compliance activities in operations, preventing occupational injuries and illnesses, and implementing safety practices to maintain a safe working environment. The specialist will work closely with Site Management to ensure adherence to federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Support EHS compliance activities in operations.
- Help prevent occupational injuries, illnesses, and incidents.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and occupational hygiene regulatory requirements.
- Implement safety practices across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in an EHS discipline (Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, etc.) or Scientific discipline (Environmental Science, Chemistry, etc.).
- 5+ years of work experience in EHS.
Nice-to-haves
- Master's Degree in an EHS discipline or Scientific discipline.
- Working knowledge of EHS, Safety, and Industrial Hygiene Standards.
- 2+ years of Industrial Hygiene experience including assessments and remediation of hazards.
- CSP, CIH or other comparable certifications.
- Ability to present to Senior Management and train employees.
- Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational, and computer skills.
