We are looking for a Senior EHS Specialist to join our Care Chemicals team in Spartanburg, SC. Come create chemistry with us! Reporting to the EHS Director of Care Chemicals Americas, you will be responsible for supporting, facilitating and implementing EHS programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements as needed through a shared business resource concept. This position will require ~75% of focus on Environmental Compliance Program Management, and ~25% on Occupational Safety and Industrial Hygiene Support. Requirements

  • Hold a bachelors degree in Engineering, Science or an Environmental discipline, or other related field.
  • Bring 5-10 years of experience implementing EHS programs in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Are experienced with Health and Safety management Responsible Care® management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably have professional certification(s) in safety, health, or environmental topics.

Responsibilities

  • Providing technical and regulatory expertise to ensure EHS compliance at the assigned site, with an emphasis on environmental compliance management.
  • Managing federal, state and local environmental compliance programs which include air, waste and water programs (e.g. LDAR, Title V, PSM/RMP, RCRA, EPCRA, SPCC).
  • Serving as the technical expert on environmental regulatory compliance matters for EPA, SCDES and applicable industry standards
  • Interfacing with employees, regulatory agencies and third parties, as needed, on compliance and enforcement issues; as well as communicating and facilitating the sharing of programs, procedures, and tools that promote a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Providing strategic leadership while working with site management, employees, and EHS Community on identified EHS issues, recommendations, and opportunities to drive continuous improvement of EHS programs and culture.
  • Supporting implementation of Responsible Care® Management System.
  • Assisting with the implementation of corporate EHS policies and procedures (Safe Work Permits, Job Safety Analysis, Management of Change, Incident/Accident investigation, HAZCOM, Training, Pre-startup safety reviews, etc.).
