About The Position

As a Senior EHR Data Engineer serves as the primary clinical IT&S resource for the development, implementation, and support advanced clinical applications or complex MEDITECH tools across the division. The position involves implementation and support of division wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities related to advanced clinical applications and tools in their specialty area(s). Major responsibilities include developing scripts to pull and process data from different EHRs, coordinating implementation activities, providing user support, conducting problem analyses, and participating in root cause analysis.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree Preferred
  • 5+ years of experience in with Meditech Expanse, Magic 5.6, Epic, Cerner Required
  • Demonstrates an empathetic and growth mindset with a willingness to learn new skills, technologies, and methodologies
  • Strong knowledge of public cloud best practices and design patterns used in creating, automating, and supporting data pipelines
  • Ability to assemble large, complex sets of data that meet functional and non-functional product requirements
  • Ability to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements
  • Helps create and use analytical tools to monitor data pipeline metrics
  • Strong ability to present and facilitate technical ideas
  • Strong ability using source control management tools such as Git/GitHub
  • Strong ability using CI/CD automation tools
  • Strong understanding of SQL and analytical data warehouses
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Develops scripts to pull and process data from different EHRs in SQL, SSIS, SSRS, ETL jobs
  • Coordinates the implementation of division-wide standardization, utilization, integration, and optimization activities in the specialty area(s)
  • Develops, executes, and supports division-wide tools and resources focused on clinical initiatives
  • Provides user support and system maintenance for advanced clinical applications for all division hospitals
  • Conducts problem analyses and timely and accurate resolution for complex issues and requests escalated from the division Service Desk
  • Works with enterprise subject matter experts and services resources in managing resolution of clinical application incidents and requests
  • Participates in root cause analysis as trends in issues in specialty area(s) are identified
  • Works with EHR Support Analyst roles and Division EHR Specialist Team to provide support for module updates
  • Coordinates division-wide testing for advanced clinical applications
  • Provides training to division EHR Support specialists and facility EHR Support Analysts
  • Defines clinical application reporting standards and works with facilities to implement the standards
  • Aggregates data from division-level reports and investigates discrepancies
  • Identifies, evaluates, designs, and packages division best practices, policies and procedures for clinical application implementation and use
  • Promotes system security and patient confidentiality and helps ensure compliance
  • Builds the division community in clinical application specialty area(s) by establishing and growing strong relationships with colleagues
  • Participates in special projects as needed and performs other duties as assigned
