About The Position

Sentara Rockingham Memorial Hospital is hiring a Senior Echocardiographer for the Cardiac service line non-invasive lab. This is a full time, day shift position in Harrisonburg, Va. The echocardiographer is expected to perform two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms to evaluate heart and vessel abnormalities for the evaluation of heart disease and blood flow abnormalities. Each Team member is expected to perform about 7 exams per day. The echocardiography lab is considered high volume with close to 9,500 procedures performed annually. The lab works closely with invasive cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery services.

Requirements

• 3 years of experience.
• High School Diploma required, Associate Degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited echocardiography program (or equivalent education) in accordance with IAC Guidelines.
• Candidates must have at least one of the four certifications (RDCS, RCCS, RCS, or ACS).

Responsibilities

• Perform two dimensional echocardiograms, Doppler echocardiograms, transesophageal echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacological stress echocardiograms.
• Complete the technologist report in the structured report application.
• Provide leadership to support department with respect to staffing schedule, accreditation, staff education or other duties as defined by management.
• Generate preliminary reports in ProSolv (Structured Report SW Application).
