About The Position

PCI is seeking an experienced Senior Drywall Estimator for its PCI Indianapolis 551 operations based in Carmel, IN. This individual will be responsible for performing quantitative takeoffs, establishing labor productivities, maintaining positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing, soliciting subcontractor pricing, understanding market conditions, participating in internal bid reviews, fostering positive customer relations, handling contract administration for secured projects, preparing wage and benefit schedules, assisting in project hand-offs to the Operations Team, and other assigned duties such as change order management or billings. This position is safety sensitive.

Requirements

  • At least 5-7 years of estimating construction projects.
  • Experience with estimating/project management/managing drywall scopes of construction.
  • Strong ability to read, understand and interpret specifications and drawings for PCI’s scopes of work.
  • Strong record of establishing and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and cost analysis.
  • Ability to accurately read schedules for sequencing and durations of applicable scopes of work.
  • Proficiency with computer takeoff & estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff and Quickbid.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science or Construction Management.
  • Experience with working with union representatives is preferred.
  • OSHA Certification.
  • Local to Indianapolis metro area is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performing quantitative takeoffs on construction projects.
  • Establish labor productivities for estimate.
  • Maintain positive relationships with area vendors for competitive material and equipment pricing.
  • Solicit subcontractor pricing for work done outside of our self-perform group.
  • Understand the market conditions including competitive approach, backlog, level or risk for work and other factors for establishing margin percentages.
  • Be involved in the internal bid reviews with supervisors and project team.
  • Participate in the customer alignment objectives of the branch by creating and maintaining positive customer relations.
  • Contract administration for secured projects.
  • Prepare wage and benefit schedules.
  • Assist in the hand-off of secured projects to the Operations Team.
  • Assist in other duties as assigned such as change order management or billings depending on the project(s).
