About The Position

CEDA is looking for highly skilled and experienced Senior Dredge Operators to join our team. The work is in Midland, Texas and may require travel throughout the state. Our Senior Dredge Operators will be responsible for operating and maintaining a dredge and ensuring all safety procedures are followed. Requirements

  • Valid Canadian passport and the ability to travel to the United States
  • CEDA will be applying for work Visas
  • 5+ years of experience operating dredges
  • Prior experience with pumps, centrifuge systems or dredging and dewatering
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • Able to work independently in a busy environment
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment alcohol and drug test
  • You know how to work effectively in a team environment and maintain a high level of integrity when it comes to safety
  • Comfortable being on and around open bodies of water
  • You demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
  • You possess an uncompromising commitment to health and safety at all times

Nice To Haves

  • Production dredging experience is an asset
  • Marine Emergency Duties (A1 or A3) licence is an asset
  • Small Vessel Operator (SVOP) training is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Operate dredge and all components
  • Perform small engine maintenance such as checking/adding oils and tightening lose fittings
  • Perform daily preventative maintenance including engine checks, fueling the dredge, hoses for leaks and all moving parts for proper function,
  • Read and understand dredge pressure, vacuum and flow gauges
  • Move, tow, and anchor dredges and barges around the pond
  • Assist with pipeline rig-ins and rig-outs on dredges and barges
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment & housekeeping in immediate work area
  • Assist with minor repairs and maintenance
  • Other duties as required
