About The Position

GFT is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Sr. Drainage Engineer requiring regular attendance at either their Miami office or embedded at FDOT District 6 office in Miami, FL. In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of drainage solutions for a variety of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Florida, with a strong focus on supporting the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and other public-sector clients. Working on the roadway team at GFT offers the opportunity to engage in transformative projects that enhance transportation infrastructure and improve community connectivity. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or a related field).
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida
  • 5+ years post PE license
  • 10+ years of experience in drainage design for highway and roadway projects.
  • Pump Station and Deep Well experience
  • Proficient in OpenRoads Designer.
  • Strong knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, and Drainage Manual.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience on FDOT District 6 (D6) projects strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support transportation and infrastructure projects by preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drainage designs, and permitting documents.
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater collection system analysis.
  • Develop stormwater management designs and obtain permits in compliance with state and local regulations.
  • Perform reviews of drainage designs, plans, and reports for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.
  • Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable FDOT standards and guidelines.
