About The Position

The Senior Distribution Supervisor is responsible for leading a team Cross-dock Supervisors and hourly associates to achieve various goals, including productivity, problem resolution, outstanding customer service, employee relations (motivation and development), and maintaining a safe work environment. The position oversees the receiving, warehousing, packaging, and shipping of product consistent with superior customer service while maintaining cost objectives. The Sr. Supervisor is responsible for establishing labor requirements, planning, and scheduling of driver and warehouse functions and may assist the Operations Manager with long-term planning. This position will also be cross-trained in other areas of the business, including Transportation and Transportation Management.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a warehousing or distribution leadership role; preferably managing multiple accounts.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), internet, web-based, and job-specific software applications
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to influence department and implement and manage change.
  • Ability to develop and use collaborative relationships to accomplish work goals by listening, sharing ideas, and appreciating others’ efforts.
  • Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; possess solid judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to function in a high-stress environment while focusing on the completion of operational goals.
  • Ability to plan, organize and manage multiple projects and set priorities.
  • Ability to build a cohesive team that exemplifies company values and operates to support the company mission statement.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (High School Diploma or GED required ).
  • Prior experience with Lean Six Sigma principles and initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead supervisors and hourly associates in a warehouse environment.
  • Ensure acceptable levels of profitability in multiple business units by meeting or exceeding productivity standards and cost control management.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service key performance indicators (order fill rate accuracy, unannounced inspections, inventory accuracy, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and safe working environment by meeting or exceeding company corporate safety goals.
  • Promote constant and measurable improvement; teach and enforce the companies Quality Policy at all times.
  • Effectively communicate company goals, expectations, areas for improvement, and successes to associates
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for all staff within the department.
  • Personally coach, train, and mentor supervisors and hourly associates to ensure personal growth and career development.
  • Use and ensure WMS, and Truck mate systems are updated accurately and promptly
  • Assist with the implementation and coordination of special projects such as physical inventory and new accounts
  • Identify needs and make recommendations regarding department procedures and process changes.
  • Ensure accurate inventory levels by maintaining accurate counts in the warehouse management system (WMS)
  • Manage inventory control issues and corrections
