About The Position

Senior Distinguished Software Engineer (Remote-Eligible) As a Sr. Distinguished Engineer at Capital One, you will be a part of a community of technical experts working to define the future of banking in the cloud. Our Distinguished Engineering team architects the strategic modernization of core credit card platforms to ensure industry-leading architectural resilience and performance. This role involves working with partner teams to integrate new data into the decision making process in an ongoing effort to make the highest quality decisions possible. We simultaneously lead the technical orchestration and horizontal scaling required for the high-stakes integration of the Discover network into our cloud-native ecosystem. By synthesizing these complex transformations, we empower Capital One to operate at unprecedented vertical scale as a world-class network operator. Distinguished Engineers are expected to lead through technical contribution. You will operate as a trusted advisor for our key technologies, platforms and capability domains, creating clear and concise communications, code samples, blog posts and other material to share knowledge both inside and outside the organization. You will specialize in a particular subject area, but your input and impact will be sought and expected throughout the organization. Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 9 years of experience in s oftware engineering and solution architecture
• At least 9 years of experience in Enterprise architecture and design patterns
• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 10+ years of professional experience coding in commonly used languages like Java, Python, Go
• 10+ years of professional experience in the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment and production support
• 3+ years of experience with public or private cloud technologies
• 5+ years of experience architecting and leading the large-scale modernization of complex, legacy platforms into resilient, cloud-native environments.
• 5+ years of experience building high-performance distributed systems capable of seamless horizontal scaling to support massive transaction volumes and global-scale data throughput
