Requirements

  • BA/BS minimum requirement, MBA preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience required
  • Healthcare or Pharmaceutical experience is required
  • Experience in licensing and/or M&A preferred
  • Experience with business analytics, Marketing and/or Finance preferred
  • Experience in Oncology is preferred
  • This role requires up to 25% domestic and international travel
  • This role can be based out of Titusville, NJ, Raritan, NJ or Spring House, PA, with the ability to travel frequently between locations
  • The anticipated pay range is $178,000-$307,050.

Responsibilities

  • Leads business development activities, including negotiations, due diligence and integration efforts
  • Works as a core member of the Oncology business development team, collaborates with Therapeutic Area leadership, External Scientific Innovation and other Sr. Management and influences decision making
  • Researches and recommends appropriate strategies and tactics for long-term growth through mergers, acquisitions, and licensing agreements.
  • Collaborates with Global Marketing, A&D, R&D, Finance and other relevant stakeholders to develop compelling business cases and executive management review materials for recommended transactions
  • Builds and maintains an external network (including attending industry/TA conferences & congresses) to stay abreast of the relevant innovation landscape and to form relationships for targeted opportunities
  • Conducts competitive analysis to evaluate, filter, and prioritize opportunities
  • Manages the tracking of opportunities and decision/inflection points through the DAS External Opportunities Team
  • When appropriate, assist Alliance Management team with renegotiations and amendments
  • Support portfolio optimization, in alignment with TA strategy, to execute divestitures, out licensing and other creative monetization deals through identification of possible buyers, pitch deck preparation, reverse diligence and data room oversight
  • Prepares briefing and discussion materials for ad hoc and recurring management updates
  • Leverages consulting, technical, analytical, and management skills to deal with execution issues including due diligence, valuation, negotiations and post-transaction operational considerations.
  • This position has a greater degree of impact on the business results and typically, has responsibility for managing a cross-functional group of professionals.
  • The ability to work well in a team environment and to build interdependent partnerships is required.
  • The ability to facilitate issue resolution across functional organizations, across cultural differences and among executives is needed.
  • Organizes, prepares and facilitates group meetings of the involved individuals and organizations in support of the business case, detailed planning phase and contracting phase.

  • Manages concerns, risks, and issues during negotiations by addressing questions and problems through analysis and research
