About The Position

Nuvation Bio is a biopharmaceutical company tackling some of the greatest unmet needs in oncology by developing differentiated and novel therapeutic candidates. Our vision is to significantly change the practice of oncology by developing medicines that provide truly meaningful improvements in quality of life and survival for people with cancer. The Senior Director, Trade & Distribution will manage all aspects of channel activities across 3PLs, Specialty Distributors, and Specialty Pharmacies. This position is responsible for defining and executing our trade strategy through collaboration with cross functional team members to negotiate, manage, and implement contracts and fee for service agreements. This individual is responsible for the day-to-day business transactions, issues and problems across all products related to Trade & Distribution. This individual will need to work closely with Supply Chain, Finance, Sales, Market Access, Legal, Medical, and Commercial Operations on a routine basis to ensure alignment on all key deliverables.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Biological Sciences, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred
  • 10+ years of Trade & Distribution experience (pharma, distributor, pharmacy, 3PL etc.)
  • A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Ideal candidate worked for Specialty Distributor (SD) or Specialty Pharmacy (SP) during their career with a strong demonstrated understanding and experience with various distribution models
  • Oncology experience and/or managing GPO contract operations highly preferred
  • Previous experience launching specialty/orphan drugs, preferably oral oncology, and setting up various distribution models, particularly SD and SP
  • Relationships with key stakeholders in the SD and SP space
  • Knowledge of the latest trends in distribution and patient services
  • Knowledge of distribution related laws and regulations
  • Fundamental understanding of price and price reporting implications around distribution agreements (Fair Market Value services etc.)
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills as well as the ability to interact and positively influence all levels of business across multiple departments
  • Demonstrated success working in a small to mid-size biotech company, reflecting an entrepreneurial culture and innovative mindset
  • Proven ability to think strategically and work with a high level of integrity
  • A highly effective collaborator who understands the importance of team collaboration with all company stakeholders

Responsibilities

  • Manage Distribution activities at the 3PL, Specialty Distribution, and Specialty Pharmacies to ensure reaching patient and operational goals; in addition to State Licensing.
  • Work closely with Legal, Supply Chain, Sales Operations, Commercial Operations, Market Access, Finance, Physician Networks & Strategic Accounts and Corporate Accounts teams; around distribution operational issues for expedited resolution
  • Drive strategy and tactic recommendation as it relates to distribution through our trade partners
  • Drive negotiation and execution of distribution agreements
  • Maintain agreed upon service levels and distribution partners and conduct periodic business reviews.
  • Analyze and ensure Trade & Distribution partners inventory provides consistent product availability and remains within Nuvation Bio Legal and Financial parameters.
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve issues within the distribution channel including chargebacks, returns, mis-shipments, damages, re-negotiations, accounts receivables and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Develop, negotiate and manage customer return policies in line with Novation Bio requirements and DSA specific agreements.
  • Panrter with internal stakeholders on all data requirements related to Trade & Distribution
  • Provide Brand Management with insightful analyses of market behavior and buying patterns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Ensure compliance with Nuvation Bio policies
