About The Position

Goodwill Central Texas is searching for a strategic, future-focused Senior Director, Total Rewards to shape and lead all enterprise-wide compensation, benefits, health, wellness, and recognition programs. This role plays a critical part in ensuring Goodwill attracts, engages, and retains top talent by designing competitive, equitable, and sustainable total rewards strategies that support our mission and long-term organizational goals. As the enterprise leader for Total Rewards, you'll guide compensation architecture, benefits strategy, wellness initiatives, and rewards programs, while partnering closely with executive leadership to ensure alignment with financial priorities, workforce needs, and market conditions. You'll also oversee data analytics, compliance, job evaluation, vendor partnerships, and continuous improvement across all total rewards functions. This role requires travel across Goodwill worksites to support leadership, team engagement, and program administration. A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7-10+ years of progressive experience in total rewards, compensation, or benefits leadership.
  • Expertise in job evaluation, compensation design, market analysis, and FLSA classification.
  • Deep knowledge of benefits administration, plan design, and vendor management.
  • Strong understanding of ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FLSA, IRS, DOL, and related regulations.
  • Proven success developing and executing compensation and benefits strategies.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience using total rewards data for decision-making.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • High integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency with HRIS, benefits platforms, and analytics tools.
  • Ability to travel across GWCTX worksites as part of ongoing leadership and program support.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record are required.

Responsibilities

  • Build and execute an enterprise-wide Total Rewards strategy covering compensation, benefits, wellness, recognition, and rewards.
  • Partner with executive leaders to align programs with organizational goals, financial sustainability, and workforce needs.
  • Develop and promote a forward-thinking total rewards philosophy that enhances employee engagement and retention.
  • Serve as the organization's expert advisor on all total rewards matters.
  • Lead the design, administration, and evaluation of competitive, equitable compensation programs.
  • Oversee job evaluations, FLSA classification reviews, market pricing, job leveling, and internal equity assessments.
  • Design salary structures, pay ranges, and compensation frameworks that reinforce fairness and competitive positioning.
  • Conduct market analyses and benchmarking to maintain alignment with industry standards.
  • Guide leaders on compensation decisions related to offers, promotions, adjustments, and workforce planning.
  • Develop compensation policies, governance frameworks, and internal audit processes.
  • Oversee all benefits programs, including health, wellness, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, retirement, leaves, and ancillary benefits.
  • Lead cost-effective benefits strategy development aligned with workforce needs and market competitiveness.
  • Manage brokers, carriers, and vendors to ensure performance and cost optimization.
  • Direct open enrollment, annual renewals, RFPs, communications, and plan design improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, 403(b), and related regulations.
  • Oversee 403(b) plan administration, including audits, employer match processes, and participant support.
  • Lead the development of holistic wellness initiatives addressing physical, mental, emotional, and financial well-being.
  • Partner across the organization to ensure wellness aligns with culture and DEI priorities.
  • Use data and assessments to measure program effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Build and maintain a data-driven total rewards infrastructure, including dashboards, KPIs, and predictive analytics.
  • Provide executive leadership with insights on cost trends, utilization, modeling, and program performance.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial integrity.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness and recommend updates to improve cost efficiency and employee value.
  • Lead and develop benefits, compensation, and wellness team members.
  • Strengthen team capability through training, coaching, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, service excellence, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate processing of enrollments, payroll deductions, benefits changes, and invoicing.
  • Oversee plan documents, SPDs, summaries, and employee communication.
  • Lead open enrollment execution, new-hire onboarding support, and benefits education events.
  • Manage compliance filings, audits, and regulatory responses.
  • Stay current on legislative and regulatory trends impacting compensation and benefits.
  • Support change management efforts related to total rewards enhancement or redesign.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
