Job Summary/Objective Leads all aspects of the Company’s tax function in a dynamic, private equity–backed environment. Ensures tax compliance, optimizes tax strategy, supports transaction activity, and manages tax risk across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required, with a focus in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. In the absence of a degree, equivalent work experience directly related to the key responsibilities of the role will be considered as a substitute for the degree.
  • At least 10 years of progressive tax experience including public accounting and/or in-house roles, with strong experience in partnership taxation and LLC structures, a prior background working with mergers & acquisitions, transaction advising, and tax structuring, and a proven ability to operate independently and drive results in a fast-paced and global business environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and execute tax strategies aligned with the Company’s growth objectives, capital structure, and private equity sponsor expectations. Identifies opportunities to optimize effective tax rates, cash taxes, and tax attributes.
  • Advises executive leadership on tax implications (including product taxability) of strategic initiatives, restructurings, and operational changes, for all countries where OEC operates in. Monitors and assesses the impact of global tax law changes on the Company and its investors.
  • Builds, leads, and develops the internal tax function, including managing internal staff and external service providers.
  • Serves as a key business partner to Finance, Legal, Accounting, and Operations, and communicates complex tax matters clearly to non-tax stakeholders, including senior leadership and private equity sponsors.
  • Oversees preparation and review of North America and International tax income filings (federal, state, province, local), including partnership returns (Forms 1065), K-1s, GST/HST/VAT returns, Anti-hybridity tax regulation filings, etc.
  • Manages indirect taxes, including sales and use, property, payroll, and excise taxes, as applicable. Ensures timely and accurate tax provision calculations under ASC 740 for financial reporting. Coordinates with external advisors to ensure compliance across all jurisdictions.
  • Supports M&A activity, including due diligence, structuring, modeling, and post-acquisition integration. Partners with deal teams and external advisors on tax structuring for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancings.
  • Manages tax considerations related to debt instruments, equity compensation, and sponsor-level reporting needs. Assists with exit planning and readiness, including IPO or sale processes.
  • Manages tax audits and examinations at the federal, state, and local levels, Establishes and maintains internal controls and documentation related to tax processes. Identifies and mitigates tax risks and exposures on a proactive basis.
  • Recruits, hires and onboards new department leaders and staff. Ensures newly hired employees are positioned for success.
