NextEra Energy Transmission is seeking a senior origination leader to drive commercial development and strategic customer engagement across the western U.S., with a primary focus on the WECC region. This role will serve as a senior external-facing representative for NEET, building and leading relationships with executive stakeholders at utilities, municipals, public power entities, cooperatives, operating companies, and other strategic counterparties. This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who can operate credibly with vice presidents, senior vice presidents, and C-suite leaders while also working across internal development, regulatory, legal, finance, policy, and technical teams to advance complex transmission opportunities. The successful candidate will help identify, shape, and mature new business opportunities, including bilateral partnerships, strategic development agreements, joint development structures, solicitations, and other commercial arrangements that support NEET’s growth strategy in the West. This individual will be expected to bring strong commercial judgment, deep industry relationships within CAISO/WECC, and the ability to connect customer priorities with actionable development strategies. The role requires a leader who can synthesize market intelligence, influence senior decision-makers, develop commercial positions, and help translate strategic engagement into executable opportunities. This position is responsible for the business development functions of the Company throughout the country and/or a specific geographic region. Leaders in this role are responsible for leading and coordinating key functions of a project such as financial feasibility analysis, engineering/design, project legal review, and financial negotiations. This position plays a key role in building strategic relationships and executing major contracts necessary to support the Company’s generating business growth initiatives.
