About The Position

Walmart Data Ventures is transforming retail by developing and productizing Walmart’s unmatched first-party data into customer-centric actionable insights that empower merchants and suppliers to make better, faster decisions for their business. As part of this transformation, we’re seeking entrepreneurial individuals to help drive data productization from concept to deployment. We are hiring a Senior Director, Strategic Account Management over our food team to help drive business growth by developing and maintaining business relationships, both internally across Walmart, as well as externally with Food suppliers and merchants that subscribe to our Scintilla platform. The ideal candidate will be someone that can understand and manage mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits, while supporting engagement and dialogue with stakeholders to mitigate risks, resolve issues, and realize value proposition and subsequent business objectives with all our products. This individual must have the ability to get things done through influencing and persuading people across a wide range of teams within Walmart and with external counterparties. We are looking for someone with a passion for leveraging data to identify insights that can positively impact Walmart customer experience, supplier / brand performance to drive customer growth and satisfaction through tactics and strategies across omni channels. What you'll do... You’ll be successful in this role if: Lead and inspire high-performing teams of account managers and experienced professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, belonging, and continuous development. Drive strategic merchant engagement at scale, building collaborative partnerships across departments and geographies to advance business priorities and accelerate adoption of key initiatives. Apply advanced analytical and technical skills to interpret complex, contextual datasets, derive actionable insights, and advise senior stakeholders on enterprise-level decisions. Simplify and communicate complex data for diverse audiences, enabling customers and partners to make informed decisions that drive business growth. Implement and oversee organizational business plans by identifying evolving customer and operational needs, proactively adapting to market, industry, and regulatory changes. Champion customer-centricity by establishing robust communication and engagement strategies, managing mutual value propositions, risks, and benefits, and ensuring exceptional client experiences throughout the partnership lifecycle. Provide strategic Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to product and business teams, representing both supplier and merchant perspectives to inform product roadmaps, enhancements, and innovation. Model integrity and ethical leadership, cultivating an environment of trust, respect, and accountability, and ensuring compliance with company values and standards. Develop and institutionalize best practices for account planning, forecasting, cross-selling, and continuous improvement, setting standards and metrics for the broader organization. Connect ideas to long-term growth opportunities, confidently making tough decisions that shape the future direction of the business. Create inventive solutions for complex, enterprise-wide challenges, leading cross-functional teams to address the organization’s biggest problems and opportunities. Orchestrate collaborative work plans with third-party consultants, merchants, operations, and suppliers to maximize supplier and Walmart value, and deliver measurable return on investment from product and partnership initiatives. Capture, package, and communicate success stories, case studies, and best practices, sharing insights and driving adoption of innovative solutions across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, or related field and 6 years’ experience in business development, account management, market development, product development, or related area OR 8 years’ experience in business development, account management, market development, product development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working for 3rd party data / insights supplier (Nielsen, IRI, Kantar, 84.51, dunnhumby etc.)
  • Experience working as a merchant in analytics, insight or operations with Walmart or other national retailers
  • Experience working with Retail Link, SQL, and/or Alteryx.
