About The Position

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is seeking a leader to develop and implement scientific and communication strategies for the International Advisory Committee on Clinical Trials in MS (CTC). This role involves overseeing global initiatives, engaging with the scientific community, and ensuring effective collaboration among stakeholders to advance clinical trials and research in multiple sclerosis.

Requirements

  • PhD/MD/DO/NP/PA or comparable post-graduate degree with 7-10 years of research or clinical experience.
  • 3-5 years experience conducting and managing research in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical sector and/or clinical care or nursing, preferably in MS.
  • Demonstrated track record of supervising staff and managing multidisciplinary teams in a matrix environment.
  • High level planning, program and project management skills.
  • Outstanding leadership skills with the ability to adapt style to circumstances.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to influence a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in patient advocacy/non-profit setting is preferred.
  • Experience supporting large, geographically dispersed projects in the voluntary or public sector.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of CTC scientific and communication strategies.
  • Provide day-to-day leadership for ongoing CTC global initiatives and develop new programs.
  • Engage the international academic, clinical, and commercial research community to develop innovative solutions for MS challenges.
  • Manage the CTC Sponsor group, including organizing meetings and ensuring timely financial planning and reporting.
  • Measure project performance against milestones and deliverables using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation for future reference.
  • Identify and assess risks and develop action plans if problems arise.
  • Manage the development and project growth of new scientific or clinical initiatives within the CTC.
  • Organize oversight and planning meetings for ongoing CTC initiatives and develop meeting materials.
  • Prepare scientific reports and presentations for CTC leadership and committee members.
