About The Position

The Senior Director, Risk Management is a key member of the legal leadership team and will work closely with the Company's general counsel, chief financial officer, EHS leadership, business unit leadership and other top management team members. Reporting to the general counsel, he/she will be responsible for managing all aspects of the insurance portfolio (auto, D&O, cyber, property, GL and others) with respect to the organization, its employees, reputation, and assets, including policies and strategies for mitigation of risk.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Finance, Business or related field, required
  • Minimum 12 years' of years of risk management experience in-house, preferably in the manufacturing or industrial sectors
  • 7 years' experience in a risk management leadership role, preferably as risk lead in an organization
  • 3 years' of claim processing experience
  • Proven experience communicating with and giving presentations to the Board of Directors and executive leadership teams
  • Demonstrated claims investigations and negotiating experience
  • Proven track record of delivering enhancements to process efficiency including through the use of technology
  • Experienced in managing TPAs efficiently and effectively

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and lead a global risk management strategy for the organization
  • Understand and analyze complex insurance issues to develop and execute appropriate policies and procedures to mitigate the Company's exposure to risk and to reduce cost
  • Provide analysis on contractual provisions related to insurance
  • Support enterprise risk management program
  • Handle all insurance renewals
  • Maintain a leadership role in the tactical execution of all binder requirements, policy renewals and amendments and continual changes in coverage
  • Respond to numerous queries from carriers, brokers, regulatory agencies and corporate stakeholders across the enterprise, providing requested information daily
  • Advise internal stakeholders on workers compensation, auto accidents, professional liability, property, and cyber-crime claims
  • Review, research and finalize claims within established regulatory requirements and Company policies
  • Review provider disputes or appeals and provides a detailed analysis of findings
  • Provide expertise and assistance relative to provider billing and payment guidelines consistent with Company policies and procedures
  • Develop workers compensation incident reduction programs, shepherds injured employees through work restrictions and resolves open workers compensation claims
  • Create and propagate loss run key performance indicators to benchmark risk, rolling out evidence-based risk mitigation initiatives
  • Maintain detailed metrics and dashboards on vehicle accidents, employee injuries, workers compensation claims, general liability claims and the cost trends associated with each
  • Utilize data to drive risk mitigation for business units
  • Provide support with claims analysis and RWI procurement during M&A transactions
  • Manage TPA to rigorous KPIs
