About the position

The Purchasing Manager at Fresh is responsible for defining and executing purchasing strategies that align with business objectives and category sourcing strategies. This role involves managing supplier relationships, overseeing the purchasing budget, and ensuring compliance with procurement laws while optimizing costs and product quality. The position requires collaboration with internal partners and the ability to innovate purchasing processes to enhance efficiency and sustainability.

Responsibilities

• Define purchasing strategy in line with business objectives and category sourcing strategy.
• Lead purchasing activities including annual vendor reviews and action plans with the operations department.
• Manage sourcing and purchasing of component vendors according to established strategies and budget guidelines.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers, ensuring compliance and resolving disputes.
• Evaluate supplier performance and foster long-term partnerships with key vendors.
• Oversee the preparation of the annual purchasing budget and ensure purchases remain within budgetary limits.
• Work with the finance team to forecast costs and savings, assessing financial risks associated with procurement activities.
• Achieve target yearly savings and seek improvements in purchasing processes using new technologies or innovative practices.
• Ensure compliance with procurement laws and stay informed about relevant legislation affecting sourcing decisions.
• Manage risks related to supply chain disruptions and contractual obligations.

Requirements

• 12+ years of experience in procurement and purchasing, preferably in beauty purchasing.
• Expertise in packaging materials such as metal, plastic, glass, and cardboard.
• Strong analytical abilities for assessing market conditions.
• Strategic agility and pragmatism in decision-making.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with intermediate Excel skills.
• Fluency in Fresh is highly preferred.
• Understanding of ERP systems and international trade regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proven project management skills and a proactive approach to process improvement.
