About The Position

The Senior Director – Project Controls - is a strategic leadership role responsible for integrating and overseeing cost control, schedule control, and document control functions across a Business Unit Capital project. This role reports directly to the Senior Director – CEPS and functions as his deputy and supports in their absence.  This individual will develop departmental SOP’s, work instructions and job descriptions for all roles. They will support the development, implement and administrate all project controls systems/tools including Primavera, the cost management system, the estimating system, and document control system. They will be the original SME and administrator for each system and provide training to all departmental members in these systems. Over time They will train an SME for each system to function as the admin/super user. Her duties include ensuring the processes and tools provide transparency, accountability, and performance alignment from project initiation through commissioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in project controls for capital-intensive industrial projects.
  • Proven expertise in cost, schedule, and document control systems and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Ares Prism, Hexagon Ecosys, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.

  • PMP, CCP, or similar certification.
  • Experience with greenfield manufacturing or infrastructure projects.

  • Experience with document control systems such as COREWORX, PROCORE, OMNEX, or HEXAGON EcoSys.
  • Excellent Verbal and Written Communicator.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Senior Director – CEPS in the administration of the CEPS organization and serve as his deputy in his absence. Day to day responsibilities will be to oversee and carry out the vision and direction of the Senior Director.
  • Develop SOPs and work instructions for Cost, Scheduling, Estimating and Document Control. 
  • Annually audit all projects for proper execution of projects according to the SOPs.
  • Develop Job Descriptions for all roles.
  • Attend College & Career fairs for college recruiting.
  • Develop a rotational program for all college recruits to rotate them through all of the CEPS departments.
  • Develop dashboards and reporting tools that provide real-time visibility into project status, risks, and KPIs.
  • Develop and manage corporate lessons learned database for projects to reference to drive future improvements and reduce repeated mistakes.
  • As this role is not project specific, it does provide support for all projects to ensure proper project setup, execution, and close out. 
  • Lead the development of the Cost Breakdown Structure and Work Breakdown Structure for use on all projects.
  • Oversee implementation of cost management systems (e.g., Ares Prism, EcoSys), ensuring data integrity and alignment with SAP. Administer the system, provide training, and ensure reporting consistency across all projects.
  • Collaborate with finance and accounting teams to ensure data sharing.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on project financial health, earned value metrics, and cost performance indicators for all projects from the system tools.
  • Ensure data collection of actual expenditures versus planned for developing performance metrics and establishing a historical database for future estimates as well as identifying areas of improvement.
  • Develop the EPS and OBS structures and the global activity fields for the Primavera database along with appropriate security profiles for users. 
  • Administer the P6 database, provide training, and ensure reporting consistency across all projects.
  • Provide dashboard reporting of project schedule status across the company.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of document control systems aligned with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards.
  • Implement and administer the document control system and ensure a consistent coding structure is in place for all projects.
  • Support training matrix development and onboarding documentation for capital project personnel.
  • Other duties as assigned.
