About The Position

The Senior Director of Program Management - NPI & Interventional Operations sets the overall program management strategy, drives standardization, and leads development and commercial launch programs across the organization. This role is responsible for managing the Interventional Operations business, overseeing its transition from development to commercial launch, and ensuring operational excellence throughout the lifecycle. The Director will have direct P&L responsibility for the Operations Interventional business unit, partnering closely with commercial and operations teams to achieve financial and strategic objectives. focusing on technical and strategic programs

Requirements

  • 10-15+ years of program management experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Expertise in strategic program management, standardization, and oversight of multiple projects.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex technical and strategic projects.
  • Ability to work autonomously, with goals communicated in solution or result terms.
  • Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to persuade and coach others.
  • Strong problem-solving and risk mitigation skills.
  • Strong internal and external customer relations.
  • Validations knowledge preferred.
  • Experience managing P&L for a business unit or product line, preferably in a launch or commercialization context.
  • Experience with organizational change management and strategic consolidation is a plus.
  • BS in Business or a technical discipline (Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Biomedical Science) required.
  • MBA or Master's in Program Management preferred.
  • PMP certification through PMI or completion of a Master's in Program Management through an accredited university preferred.
  • Purchasing authority up to approved program financials.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 2 weeks per month.

  • Validations knowledge preferred.
  • Experience with organizational change management and strategic consolidation is a plus.
  • MBA or Master's in Program Management preferred.
  • PMP certification through PMI or completion of a Master's in Program Management through an accredited university preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a work group of program managers, providing direction, goals, and resource allocation within span of control.
  • Act as a role model for the Enterprise Program Management Office (EPMO), influencing both lower and higher levels within the organization.
  • Oversee specialized, complex technical and strategic projects or business issues requiring extensive experience and knowledge.
  • Remediate existing projects and manage senior-level program management assignments.
  • Set and maintain program management standards and best practices.
  • Communicate complex ideas succinctly, anticipating objections and persuading internal and external stakeholders.
  • Present both positive and negative results, and coach others through difficult stakeholder discussions.
  • Lead solution development and risk mitigation efforts, ensuring effective execution and stakeholder communication.
  • Mentor and develop a team of project/program managers for successful project delivery.
  • Use ViaLaunch to implement programs effectively.
  • Execute programs to achieve financial requirements.
  • Manage the Interventional Operations business, including oversight of all activities as the business moves from development to commercial launch.
  • Own P&L responsibility for the Operations Interventional business unit, ensuring financial targets are met and revenue is accurately reported (e.g., New Product Development Program revenue in Fremont P&L).
  • Partner with commercial, operations, and supply chain leaders to optimize launch execution, resource allocation, and operational performance for Interventional products.
  • Support the Interventional BU model, fostering strong commercial/operations relationships and driving successful market entry.
  • Ensure compliance with campus consolidation goals and organizational changes as outlined in the latest org structure.
