Summary of Role: Develop, optimize and sustain Test Equipment & Process capability to meet operations goals Typically performs one or more of the following in capacity of either an individual contributor (as directed and/or independently), or as a manager: •Develops and implements methods and procedures for process control, process improvement, testing and inspection to ensure that the products are free of flaws and function as designed • Designs and installs sophisticated testing equipment and performs product testing and analysis to maintain quality levels and minimize defects and failure rates • Analyzes reports and defective products to determine trends and recommend corrective actions • Collaborates with supplier representatives on quality problems, ensures that effective corrective actions are implemented and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements • Work and collaborate other projects and/or assignments as needed. The Senior Director of Product Test is a newly created leadership role within our Custom Silicon organization, responsible for establishing and overseeing all post-fabrication test and packaging operations for new custom silicon products. This role will drive the strategy and execution of post-fab activities – including wafer-level testing, test services, and final packaging – to ensure our custom silicon devices meet the highest standards of quality, yield, and reliability. The position requires a blend of strategic leadership, innovation in test methodologies, operational excellence, and close cross-functional collaboration. As the head of Product Test, this leader will play a pivotal part in accelerating time-to-market for our custom silicon solutions and in building a new business capability that is critical to the success and competitive advantage of the Custom Silicon division.

Responsibilities

  • Works on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations requires an evaluation of intangible factors and judgment, intuition and technical insight are required.
  • Exercises judgment in areas outside of broadly defined practices and policies in developing methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

  • Establishes organizational procedures and plans, consistent with corporate policy.
  • Interprets, executes, and recommends modifications to corporate policy.
  • Provides leadership, direction and strategy development and makes final administrative or operational decisions within level of authority or, as applicable, recommends course of action on matters affecting the organization managed.
  • Work is performed without appreciable direction and is reviewed from a quarterly or fiscal year perspective.
  • Manages activities through subordinate managers, at least one of which is a position level 10.
  • Responsible for setting strategic direction for functions managed.
  • Ensures that overall budget and performance standards are realistically set and attained.
  • Recommends organization structure for area managed and develops performance standards for area managed.
  • Establishes standards and procedures for their areas managed.
  • Interacts regularly with Sr. Executives within their business unit or function and equivalent level managers across functions and regions concerning matters of significance to the company.
  • Influences senior executives within their region, function or business unit.
  • Requires functional expertise, knowledge of multiple functions, broad company knowledge and additional industry or business knowledge.
