About The Position

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity to join Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. as a Senior Director, Product Development supporting the Chief Scientific Officer. Requirements

  • Requires a doctoral degree in a Life Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in translational biology in a pharma setting, preferably at an industry leading firm.
  • Solid understanding of growth drivers for the proteomics and multi-omics market spaces.
  • Expertise in developing strategic frameworks and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven extensive knowledge in translational biomarker discovery, precision medicine, and drug development.
  • Broad understanding, education, and applied background in proteomics, genomics, and other ‘omics technologies.
  • Effective at forming relationships, collaborating, and influencing leaders within and outside the organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of current life science technologies and customer trends.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint, proficient with PowerBI.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain relationships across business and technically focused teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Management consulting or corporate strategy experience in the life science tools and diagnostics industry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Thermo Fisher Scientific’s multi-omics strategy, in consultation with members of the Senior R&D and Executive Management.
  • Lead large-scale collaborations with academic institutions, pharma, biotech, governmental health organizations, and population biobanks, ensuring Thermo Fisher is the industry leader in applied multi-omics.
  • Guide the company’s long-term strategy in emerging areas including multi-omics, NAMs, and biomarker discovery.
  • Develop a roadmap to drive adoption of mass spectrometry and protein detection technologies in the clinic as diagnostic platforms.
  • Drive innovation in biomarker discovery, early disease detection assays, and pipelines supporting therapeutic development.
  • Coordinate and lead proteomics and multi-omics leadership team meetings, track external competitor technologies and monitor market trends.
  • Represent Thermo Fisher at major conferences and precision medicine forums.
  • Cultivate connections with potential partners, key opinion leaders, and advisors to inform a perspective on the market landscape.
  • Act as a liaison between Thermo Fisher Scientific Business Units, Corporate management and customers.
