About The Position

Reporting directly to the Global Vice President of Procurement, the Senior Director, Procurement will be responsible for driving procurement excellence across multiple markets across North America for Avis Budget Group. This role will focus on harmonizing procurement practices globally while respecting regional market dynamics and requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive procurement experience, with a strong focus on vendor management and day-to-day operational execution.
  • Demonstrated success managing vendor relationships across a large, distributed network of sites.
  • Strategic and creative problem-solving skills, with the ability to build consensus and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience developing and managing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Global Procurement Strategy Create and execute comprehensive, globally-aligned sourcing strategies for North America spend (e.g., MRO, fleet maintenance services, IT services, facilities management, professional services) across multiple regions and markets, ensuring delivery of business-aligned savings goals.
  • Establish robust global contracts, incorporating competitive terms and conditions to manage current and future risks around market/cost volatility, regulations, currency, and other operational factors.
  • Support global development and the implement internationally standard practices such as cross-market best practice sharing and supplier partnerships.
  • Vendor & Supplier Management Establish a supplier engagement plan for international markets to secure the most competitive terms, consistent with global sourcing strategies.
  • Elevate key supplier relationships to deliver across scorecard metrics, including productivity and service, as well as corporate social responsibility ambitions such as local business development and supplier diversity.
  • Establish and oversee procurement budgets with multi-currency considerations and provide regular forecasting, including risk and opportunity analysis.
  • Partner with the Procurement Operations team to design and implement a robust supplier performance measurement program and standardized processes across all international locations.
  • Team Leadership & Development Support the global organizational design and ensure the establishment of high-performing procurement teams, including the recruitment, development, and coaching of associates.
  • Set KPIs and ensure adherence, performance measurement, and target achievement across all international regions.
  • Drive process harmonization across all international sites, implementing best practices while adapting to local market conditions.
  • Digital Transformation & Process Excellence Support global transformation efforts through leading digital transformational procurement initiatives in international. markets, including P2P design, integration, and compliance.
  • Drive automation and digitization of procurement processes to improve efficiency and compliance across all international markets.
  • Ensure data standardization and reporting consistency across international operations.
