The Senior Director will hold strategic procurement responsibility for Research Services, supporting biopharmaceutical research and collaborating with relevant external partners. This role is crucial in driving performance across research procurement categories, focusing on cost savings and optimizing supplier relationships, including those with small and diverse suppliers. The Senior Director will work closely with research leaders to support the company's revenue targets and new product pipeline. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing relationships, performance, and service level agreements (SLAs) with key strategic suppliers. As the Sr. Director, Research Services Lead you will be responsible for the development and implementation of category strategies supporting Research Functions: Chemistry, Biology, Animal Sciences, Laboratory Equipment and Scientific instrumentation supporting Discovery Research, Pharmaceutical Development and Cell Therapies through effective management and engagement with both internal and external stakeholders. You will support the delivery of category value targets, as agreed with finance and business stakeholders and endorsed by the Global Procurement Leadership Team (SLT). Additionally, you will take personal ownership of large and/or complex supplier arrangements and provide subject matter expertise to your extended team for other supply and commercial conditions. Success in this role will include: A proven track record in global R&D procurement within the biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, and/or medical device industry and ability to work successfully with international colleagues in a highly collaborative manner and culture. A commitment to sustainable procurement practices and corporate social responsibility. Ability to incorporate newest technologies including the application of AI, ML and Generative AI as part of the category strategy.
