About The Position

The Senior Director of Portfolio Management at Walgreens is responsible for overseeing the Technology portfolio, ensuring that investment strategies align with organizational goals and deliver measurable value. This role involves collaboration with various leaders to establish governance processes, manage program interdependencies, and drive cross-divisional initiatives. The director will also oversee budgets and operational plans while fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and at least 8 years of experience in Portfolio/Program/Project Management or a High School Diploma/GED with at least 11 years of experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading direct and cross-functional teams of 10 or more.
  • Experience defining/developing project, program, and portfolio management processes.
  • Experience facilitating meetings and leading discussions across the enterprise.
  • Knowledge of project/program/portfolio best practices.
  • Experience establishing governance frameworks and creating executive-level reports.
  • Experience reading and interpreting financial data to make strategic decisions.
  • At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.
  • At least 5 years of direct and indirect leadership experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees the entire Technology portfolio.
  • Develops strategy for the long-range plan linking Technology priorities to enterprise strategies.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to establish and facilitate the Technology governance structure.
  • Responsible for establishing and leading the execution of processes for program interdependency management and reporting.
  • Leads and contributes to the identification and adoption of functional best practices and policies.
  • Collaborates with Technology divisions, Finance, Strategy, and PMO to ensure alignment of Technology program plans.
  • Champions and drives cross-divisional collaboration and communications.
  • Participates in general business planning regarding Technology to maximize growth and efficiency.
  • Oversees budgets, operational plans, and performance requirements for the portfolio.
  • Facilitates communication between staff, management, vendors, and other resources.
  • Allocates available resources to meet operating objectives and develops staff.
