About the position

As the Senior Director of People Technology, you will lead Expedia Group's global People Technology team, driving the digital enablement of the People (HR) function and its strategic agenda. In this pivotal role, you will shape and execute the long-term vision for our People technology ecosystem, ensuring it delivers a seamless, data-rich, and engaging experience across the entire employee lifecycle. You will be responsible for the strategic direction, implementation, and continuous optimization of our global HR systems, aligning technology investments with business priorities and employee needs. The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of leveraging external market insights to inform strategic decisions, balancing innovation with operational excellence, and championing the transformative impact of people technologies across a complex, global organization.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead the execution of the People Technology roadmap, ensuring alignment with Expedia Group's broader business and people strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with Centers of Excellence (CoEs) and key partners to deeply understand their needs, co-create strategic solutions, and deliver on shared goals.
  • Lead and inspire a global team of HR technology professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and professional growth.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, gathering requirements, aligning on priorities, and providing transparent updates on progress and outcomes.
  • Drive operational excellence by simplifying processes and leveraging automation, AI, and analytics to enhance the employee experience and HR service delivery.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends, evaluating emerging technologies and best practices to proactively address future organizational needs.
  • Oversee vendor partnerships, ensuring delivery against agreed priorities, service levels, and value expectations.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Corporate IT, People Analytics, and the broader Expedia Group technology ecosystem to deliver integrated, data-driven solutions.
  • Foster a collaborative development environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and alignment across technical teams to deliver scalable, innovative solutions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in global HR technology within large-scale, multinational organizations.
  • Deep expertise in enterprise HR systems, with hands-on experience implementing and optimizing Workday modules including Recruiting, Learning, and Talent Optimization.
  • Familiarity with ServiceNow HR Service Delivery (HRSD) and Employee Center platforms.
  • Proven experience managing data engineering initiatives in cloud environments, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
  • Demonstrated success in driving continuous operational improvement and delivering HR service excellence.
  • Strong vendor management and contract negotiation skills, with a track record of managing complex third-party relationships.
  • Experience leading and developing globally distributed teams across multiple time zones and cultures.
  • Skilled at influencing senior stakeholders and fostering cross-functional collaboration to align HR technology with business strategy.
  • Highly data-driven, with the ability to identify gaps, uncover insights, and think holistically about interconnected systems and processes.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale, global programs, coordinating across multiple functional areas to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Adept at managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with a strong sense of accountability and adaptability.
