About The Position

The Senior Director of Youth, Camp, and Talent at the Tucson Jewish Community Center is a pivotal leadership role that encompasses the vision, management, and oversight of the Children & Youth and Camp departments. These departments operate primarily at the main campus and offer a diverse array of programs designed to engage and enrich the lives of children and families in the community. The programs include Summer and Winter Camp J, J-Care after-school program, School Days Out programs, monthly Parent's Night Out, BBYO, JCC Maccabi, and various teen and tween activities, along with private lessons in piano and tutoring. This position also plays a crucial role in managing key functions related to Talent and Human Resources, ensuring that the department not only meets but exceeds the expectations of program participants and their families. A key aspect of this role is to be a warm and welcoming presence at the J, embodying the values of the organization and ensuring that every member, guest, and visitor leaves feeling better than when they arrived. The Senior Director will work closely with program directors to develop and implement strategic goals and visions for the departments, manage budgets, and provide direct supervision and leadership to various program directors. This includes overseeing the development of Pre-K engagement strategies and ensuring compliance with all relevant state and national regulations regarding childcare and camp operations. Collaboration with other departments, such as Marketing and Development, is essential to create effective marketing plans and identify funding opportunities. The role requires active participation in leadership meetings and a commitment to fostering a sense of community and acceptance within the Tucson area.
