SUNY Cortland is looking for a dynamic, inclusive, and collaborative leader to reignite the university's Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). The CTL is a campus resource for the creation and sharing of knowledge around college teaching and learning. The CTL supports faculty and staff working directly with students by providing professional development on student development, teaching methods, assessment, and inclusive practices within and beyond the classroom. Given the broad depth of knowledge on the campus, particularly within education disciplines, the CTL will create venues for collaboration and dissemination of colleagues' expertise. The Senior Director is charged with understanding the needs of SUNY Cortland learners and supporting the faculty in all aspects of teaching including, but not limited to: pedagogy, course design, assessment, facilitation, methods, and inclusion. They will ensure that the campus is aware of local needs and resources as well as available support from SUNY and professional organizations. The Senior Director will administer the personnel, budgeting, and planning/assessment for the office. The Senior Director will hold a full-time twelve-month administrative appointment, with the possibility of a zero percent time faculty appointment in an academic unit, at a rank dependent upon qualifications and experience.
