About The Position

The Director of Programs should be a highly organized, self-starter with the ability to manage programs across Brooklyn, Queens & Staten Island. The individual holding this position must be able to use online apps and programs such as Microsoft Office products including SharePoint, Power BI, One Drive, Excel, PayCom, Precision Care and have the ability to learn other data management systems. The individual holding this position must be able to analyze and produce charts, grids, and other reports to evaluate and communicate program and personal performance. The person holding this position must be able to work on multiple projects and committees while performing their core job tasks. Staff Supervision and Development Reporting to the VP of Residential Services, the Director of Programs for Developmental Disabilities Services is responsible for the supervision of Sr. Coordinators, Coordinators and Managers. These Coordinators and Managers oversee the day-to-day operations of residential programs across Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. These programs include ICFs, IRAs & Supportive Apartments Participate in division meetings including Clinical, DDOC, Operations and other meetings as assigned by their VP, the Sr. VP of Residential Services, or executive leadership Represent HeartShare and its administration, both within and outside the organization, in a manner that promotes the values, goals and mission of HeartShare Be on call for emergencies and other program needs Conduct program visits and 1:1 meeting with direct reports. Facilitate group training, ensuring compliance with mandatory trainings and further development of skills and abilities Fiscal Participate in the development of program budgets (Staffing & OTPS) Ensure that programs maintain compliance with agency and regulatory standards. Be responsible for reviewing and reconciling assigned programs personal allowance ledgers Ensure that programs stay within their assigned FTEs, producing and reviewing overtime reports, and approving overtime hours Ensure compliance with billing standards. Conduct spot reviews of Pcare and other billing systems. The person holding this position will also be responsible for approving Data Exception Collect request Property Maintenance Ensure quality in the ongoing maintenance of physical plant facilities, including repairs, furnishings, equipment and exterior maintenance Client and Family Engagement Ensure that services delivered to the individuals meet regulatory and agency standards Ensure that services are person centered and in accord with the individual’s Life and Staff Action Plan As needed, participate in Life Plan and Day program meetings As needed, meet with family members and other service providers to help resolve issues Quality Assurance Ensure pragmatic compliance with all pertinent federal, state and city regulations. Periodically review program records and meet with management staff to ensure that programs are fully prepared for internal and external surveys Assist coordinators/managers in developing plans of corrective action (POCAs) for both internal surveys. Ensure that all corrective items are completed by program management and/or designated others within specified time frames Review findings of investigations, meet with appropriate staff to resolve issues, and ensure appropriate follow-up within designated timeframe for both investigation reports and SRC recommendations and request As needed participate in Program Planning Team, day services & clinical meetings

Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in managing residential services or programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Adept at utilizing online programs and systems to drive efficiency and progress

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field preferred
