About The Position

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Senior Director of Research & Evaluation to lead the organization’s impact measurement, research agenda, and learning initiatives. In this role, you will design and implement rigorous evaluation frameworks, translate complex data into actionable insights, and guide cross-functional teams to strengthen programs, products, and organizational strategy. You will oversee the development of KPIs, methodologies, and culturally responsive evaluation practices, while leading a proactive research agenda on workforce, immigration, economic mobility, and AI-driven labor trends. This position requires a seasoned leader with deep expertise in quantitative and qualitative research, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence strategy across multiple stakeholders in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate is innovative, equity-minded, and committed to applying data to drive meaningful social impact.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in research, evaluation, impact measurement, or applied social sciences.
  • Proven ability to evolve theories of change, measurement frameworks, and organizational KPIs.
  • Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methods, with a focus on equity-minded and culturally responsive evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience supervising staff, managing external evaluation partners, and leading cross-functional initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and other data platforms to support measurement and analysis.
  • Strong systems thinker, collaborative communicator, and strategic leader with credibility across teams and executive leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Lead organizational measurement and evaluation, refining KPIs, operationalizing theories of change, and embedding culturally responsive frameworks.
  • Design and oversee mixed-methods evaluations to assess program effectiveness, long-term career mobility, and systems-level outcomes.
  • Manage external evaluation partners, ensuring high-quality research design, analysis, and synthesis.
  • Chair an internal research steering group to analyze trends, guide insights into program and product development, and support strategic decision-making.
  • Partner with data, technology, and program teams to ensure equitable, user-centered data collection and analysis.
  • Produce clear, actionable findings for leadership, board reporting, fundraising, and public communications.
  • Mentor and guide the Director of Data & Analysis, fostering professional growth and alignment with organizational goals.
