Job Summary The Senior Director of Nursing provides overall management of the nursing and program services. Coordinates with all other disciplines to provide the highest quality of care. Directs and coordinates all aspects of nursing and direct patient care. The Senior Director of Nursing is also responsible for the maintenance of quality improvement activities to adhere to regulations and standards provided by the Joint Commission, regional licensing bodies and KVC’s policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Drivers License and Auto Insurance
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Missouri APRN/NP license and board certified or eligible.
  • At least 3 years of prior supervisory experience
  • Requires Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Email.

Nice To Haves

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice preferred
  • More than two years of experience supervising registered nurses providing psychiatric patient care.
  • Experience utilizing electronic medical administration records and health records.

Responsibilities

  • Practice conduct that displays respect for all KVC colleagues and community stakeholders regardless of age, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, or ethnicity
  • Leadership duties as it pertains to nursing as delineated by accrediting bodies including but not limited to The Joint Commission, CMS, and KDADS
  • Collaborate with all hospitals departments including but not limited to medical, psychiatry, admissions, clinical, direct care and ancillary services, as appropriate 
  • Collaborate with Shared Services departments such as Accounting, Payroll, IT, and Human Resources as needed
  • Give meaningful contribution to multidisciplinary collaborations that affect Hospitals’ sites
  • Implement, measure, and give feedback on any sitewide nursing initiatives 
  • Attend Hospitals’ Administrative meetings as well as regular site visits
  • Continue professional development as directed by direct supervisor
  • Train and develop site DON/ADON to be independently successful in site leadership
  • Support each site DON/ADON or nursing leadership position
  • Manage and evaluate performance of direct reports
  • Maintain current knowledge of and utilize KVC’s Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Participation at site accreditations
  • Provide medical/practitioner services as assigned by Executive Medical Director
  • Serve as Hospitals’ KNAP coordinator
