About The Position

The Senior Director of Internal Communications will lead the development and execution of internal communications strategies for VF Corporation's corporate entity. This role is responsible for fostering a unified, informed, and engaged employee culture across VF's global workforce. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, skilled storyteller, and experienced leader who thrives in a dynamic, matrixed environment.

Requirements

  • 12-15 years of progressive experience in internal communications, preferably within a global, matrixed organization.
  • Proven track record of leading strategic communications at the enterprise level.
  • Exceptional writing, storytelling, and presentation skills.
  • Event Planning experience.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior leaders.
  • Experience managing communications during organizational change, transformation, or crisis.
  • Familiarity with digital communication tools and platforms.
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field; Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy aligned with VF's corporate mission, values, and business priorities.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, including the CEO and Global Leadership Team (GLT) on internal messaging and employee engagement.
  • Partner closely with corporate functions, particularly HR, to ensure consistent and effective messaging across the enterprise.
  • Identify ways to leverage AI tools for increased efficiency and effectiveness of internal communications.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance employee understanding of VF's corporate strategy, culture, and vision.
  • Lead initiatives that promote employee engagement, recognition, and feedback.
  • Partner with functional teams to support change management, organizational development, and culture-building efforts.
  • Lead the creation and delivery of executive communications, including employee town halls, leadership messages, videos, and organizational updates.
  • Ensure consistency, clarity, and authenticity in messaging from corporate leadership.
  • Oversee internal communication channels (e.g., intranet, email newsletters, digital signage, video content) and ensure they are optimized for reach and impact.
  • Innovate and evolve communication platforms and storytelling strategy to meet the needs of a dynamic, global workforce.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of quarterly town halls, leadership conversations and annual global leadership conferences.
  • Establish KPIs and feedback mechanisms to measure the effectiveness of internal communications.
  • Use data and insights to continuously improve communication strategies and tactics.
  • Act as a liaison between corporate and brand communications teams to ensure alignment on enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Develop governance frameworks and best practices for internal communications across VF.
