About The Position

The Director of Human Resources oversees and ensures smooth daily operations and processes within HR. Partners with executive leadership to align human resources strategy with company growth objectives. Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style, guided by the Mission of Great Bay, the core values of Pride Commitment, Service and Quality and the objectives of the company, the Director of Human Resources Provides hands-on leadership and operational oversight of all HR functions to ensure scalable processes, compliance, workforce stability, and cultural alignment. Builds and strengthens HR systems to support sustainable growth and operational efficiency. The Director of Human Resources is responsible for maximizing human resources operational excellence by partnering and collaborating with all department leadership to align workforce planning, compensation strategy, benefit programs, employee engagement, and benefit cost and risk management with strategic goals, drive process improvements and development of the Great Bay culture. Build employee platforms, training processes and create positive morale that allows the Human Resources staff to perform at their absolute best and continue to develop and grow. Maximize human resource development to support selling, operational, delivery and administration efforts and ensure effective communications, training and reporting are maintained or improved between Human Resources and other departments. Partners with Finance to manage human resource budgets and optimize benefit expenditures within profit plan to maximize plan efficiency. Drive compliance with safety and company policies and commit to a workplace of dignity and respect. The Director of Human Resources exercises independent judgment within established company policies and approved budgets. Recommends strategic HR initiatives to executive leadership for approval and regular executive direction and review.

Requirements

  • 8–12+ years of progressive HR leadership experience (Director level or above)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, or related field required.
  • Current valid Florida Drivers’ License. This license must comply with our insurance carrier’s guidelines for an acceptable, insured driver.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret communicate complex human resources related documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to employee groups, management at all levels of the company and outside organizations.
  • Problem analysis and resolution.
  • Technical skills in strategic planning.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to plan and schedule activities and functions for personnel.
  • Ability to coach, mentor, and train employees.
  • Develop knowledge of all operational computer-based programs and mobile technology: HRMS (Paylocity), LMS, performance review systems, AB Marketing, Brew U, remote meeting software, etc.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Travel to business related meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading HR in a 200–600 employee organization preferred
  • Experience managing self-funded or captive benefit structures strongly preferred
  • Experience in distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or multi-site operations preferred
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
