About The Position

We are creating a new ecommerce vertical at Bubble, and this role will be pivotal in shaping it. The Senior Director of Digital & Ecommerce will bring together all ecommerce channels — Amazon 3P, Bubble DTC, and key retailer.com partners (Ulta.com, Target.com, Boots.com, etc.) — under one umbrella for the first time. This is both a strategic and hands-on role. You’ll be responsible for setting the vision and roadmap for Bubble’s ecommerce growth while directly managing day-to-day channel operations. You’ll oversee agency partners (Amazon) but remain accountable for channel performance, strategy, and revenue delivery. You will also lead the Growth & Media Manager (DTC + retail paid media) and the CX Manager, ensuring these functions work together seamlessly to deliver growth and brand impact.

Requirements

  • 7–10+ years of ecommerce experience (Amazon 3P, retailer.com, and/or DTC).
  • Track record of driving growth in a high-velocity consumer brand, ideally beauty, personal care, or CPG.
  • Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on — from shaping the future of the function to rolling up your sleeves in channel execution.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in P&L ownership, forecasting, and growth planning.
  • Experience managing agencies or external partners while maintaining accountability for outcomes.
  • Leadership experience managing people, with the ability to coach and build a high-performing team.
  • Entrepreneurial, agile, and thrives in a fast-moving, scaling business.

Responsibilities

  • Define and build Bubble’s ecommerce function, setting the roadmap and KPIs for Amazon, DTC, and retailer.com.
  • Carve out what success looks like across channels and build best practices that scale globally.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Growth & Media Manager and CX Manager to ensure paid media, customer experience, and channel operations are aligned and driving growth.
  • Deliver against commercial sales targets across all ecommerce channels, building and executing promo and campaign plans (e.g., Black Friday, seasonal activations, retailer-specific events) to maximize performance.
  • Manage the relationship with Bubble’s Amazon agency, providing strategic direction and accountability for sales, advertising, assortment, pricing, and operational success.
  • Drive category expansion, ranking, and review strategies to accelerate growth.
  • Own the direct-to-consumer channel, optimizing site experience, conversion, CRM, retention, and promotions.
  • Lead the email and SMS program end-to-end — including campaign calendar, flows, segmentation, and reporting — ensuring it drives conversion and retention.
  • Partner with the Growth & Media Manager to integrate learnings from paid channels into CRM testing and segmentation.
  • Own SEO strategy and execution across DTC and retailer.com partners, ensuring technical, on-page, and content optimization that drives traffic, conversion, and visibility on the digital shelf.
  • Lead content, merchandising, promotions, and growth strategies for retail.com partners (Ulta, Target, Boots, etc.).
  • Ensure the “digital shelf” is optimized — from imagery and copy to reviews and search ranking.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the CX Manager to ensure world-class service across DTC.
  • Partner with Operations and Community to ensure CX reflects Bubble’s brand values, while resolving issues that impact retention and loyalty.
  • Partner closely with retail, marketing, operations, and finance to ensure ecommerce plans align with broader business priorities.
  • Provide ongoing reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.
