As a Senior Director of Corporate Communications, you will lead the strategy and execution of external communications to protect and enhance Veterans United’s reputation. You will develop and manage corporate communications programs that strengthen relationships with national and regional media, elected officials, community leaders, industry influencers, and other key external stakeholders. In this role, you will oversee corporate communications activities, serve as a company spokesperson, and provide leadership to the communications team, ensuring alignment with company priorities and consistency with the Veterans United voice. Official title will be based on experience and skill set. Here’s a snapshot of what you’d be doing: Proactively secure media coverage by building strong relationships with national, regional, and industry reporters, pitching stories, and identifying opportunities to showcase Veterans United and its family of brands. Serve as the primary spokesperson in traditional and digital media, industry forums, and community settings. Develop and implement corporate communications strategies that elevate the company’s reputation and influence across key external stakeholders. Partner with senior leadership to craft compelling narratives, thought leadership content, speeches, and op-eds that support company objectives. Manage and mentor the Communications Manager, providing guidance, coaching, and oversight of day-to-day activities. Build and maintain partnerships with elected officials, policymakers, and community leaders to position Veterans United as a trusted partner in housing, Veterans’ affairs, and financial services. Coordinate closely with internal communications, marketing, SEO, and content teams to align messaging and maximize external impact. Work closely with stakeholders to lead media monitoring, measurement, and reporting, tracking the impact of earned coverage. Develop and implement crisis communication plans to safeguard the company’s reputation and reinforce stakeholder trust. Actively contribute to making the team and culture stronger by assisting with other duties as needed, excluding licensed activity.
