About The Position

The Senior Director of Clinical Services of HOPE, Inc. is a member of the executive management team and is responsible for the quality assurance of assessment, therapy, support and rehabilitation services provided throughout HOPE programs, including the training and supervision of clinical staff. The incumbent is responsible for ensuring services are delivered in a member centered, strengths-based approach using best practice modalities that support compliance with funding source regulations. The Senior Director of Clinical Services works closely with the direct service staff and leadership, relating to the program and clinical services provided. Guidance and direction is provided by the Chief Executive Officer.

Requirements

License in good standing in Arizona by the Board of Behavioral Health Examiners, independent license strongly preferred.
Master’s degree in social work, counseling, psychology or related human services field or equivalent work experience.
Three years of direct clinical supervision of minimally five clinical staff, ranging in education from the professionally trained, para-professional, up to Master’s prepared.
Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
(Required) Peer - Individuals must have first- hand knowledge of a behavioral health condition or substance abuse issue, whether or not they received treatment or medication or identify as a family member of someone in recovery.
Must be at least 21 years of age per licensing requirements.
Demonstrates significant professional history and knowledge of:
Behavioral health assessments, principles/methods of recovery, various counseling techniques, practices and methods.
Special needs and characteristics of the behavioral health recipient population.
Prevention of violent behavior or behavior harmful to client or others & behavior management in crisis situations.
Recognition of indications, common side effects, reactions and interactions of medications commonly used by the behavioral health recipient population.
Typically, these skills and knowledge are the result of a combination of practical education in peer support and several years of experience in personal recovery, either directly or as a family member.

Responsibilities

Manages the overall Clinical operation of the organization, including: reviewing and evaluating the results of program activities, ensuring that continuing contractual obligations are being fulfilled; allocating resources for greater program effectiveness and efficiency; developing policies and program objectives for Board consideration.
Provides oversight and quality assurance of all therapy, support and rehabilitation services.
Collaborate and work with compliance and IT departments to develop and create forms clinical documents in the EHR
Work with the COO and CEO on Quality initiatives with system partners that may include but not limited HEDIS, ADHS standards and AHCCCS standards.
Provides administrative and clinical supervision for all direct reports, including review of documentation to verify documents meet clinical, quality management and compliance with ADHS standards and ensuring that contractual obligations are being fulfilled; completes annual evaluations and performance reviews of all direct reports.
Ensures the provision of clinical supervision and oversight for all clinical staff in compliance with the standards of the Arizona Department of Health Services, Medical Facilities Licensing (ADHS);
Provides information, advice, and counsel to the executive leadership team in the creation of policies, programs, and strategic direction of the organization with regard to clinical services and programming;
Ensures all required clinical forms, completed by BHT’s are reviewed and signed off on by a BHP within the statutory guidelines. Reviews and approves assessments, treatment plans, and certain screenings in order to verify that documents meet clinical and data validation standards for medical necessity;
Identifies the need for staff education and assists the Chief Operating Officer in the development of in-service programs for HOPE staff.
Provides clinical consult to Site Directors to support appropriate use of and care of HOPE clinical services and ensure that members are treated in the least restrictive level of care possible
Participates in staff selection and orientation of new personnel on the clinical team as appropriate.
Participates in management team meetings and provides updates and recommendations for strengthening clinical programming;
Promotes HOPE, Inc. as the premier consumer run organization to the behavioral health community and prospective funding sources.
Performs other clinical and supervisory duties as assigned.
Ensure interventions provided are based on evidence based research, ensure group curriculum is provided to fidelity.
