About The Position

Position Summary: The Senior Director will provide strategic leadership for formulating and driving Hartford HealthCare’s strategy and solutions for Clinical Intelligence, Quality Analytics, Academic Affairs, Research and Innovation teams. The Senior Director will lead diverse teams of CI developers, analysts, data architects and Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) developers who are working on a variety of projects and technologies. In partnership with research administration and the Holistic Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (HAIM) team members, the Senior Director will develop a strategy for data management, Artificial Intelligence (AI) integration, data governance, registry development and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, Biomedical Informatics or related degree
  • Ten plus years of experience in healthcare related analytics developing and implementing clinical healthcare intelligence teams
  • Five plus years of experience with data access and data visualization tools
  • Five plus years of progressive leadership experience
  • Considerable knowledge of and ability to apply system and business management principles and techniques and align team goals to customer needs.
  • Considerable skills in a complex environment with multiple, interdependent systems and technologies.
  • Considerable technical knowledge of Epic analytics and quality outcomes reporting.
  • Considerable technical knowledge of SQL, relational and data warehouse database design, advanced analytical practices and tools, and content delivery (reporting).
  • Experience working with cloud-based, vendor-hosted systems.
  • Ability to create, manage and maintain strategic project implementation plans across all project life cycle components.
  • Ability to identify and integrate emerging technology trends into clinical analytic strategic plans.
  • Very strong written and oral communication skills with experience in presentations, technical writing and summary reports for audiences at varying organizational levels

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates and partners with clinical informatics, ITS, Quality, Research and executive leadership
  • Develops and implements an analytics strategy and a road map that includes clinical intelligence, data governance, and data visualization standards
  • Defines data and analytics strategy practices, leads the creation and assures the ongoing relevance of the CI analytics strategy in collaboration with the Chief Quality Officer; institutes an enterprise operating model that is consistent with the capabilities and competencies required to execute the strategy
  • Fosters the creation of a data-driven culture, related competencies and data literacy across the system-wide clinical community
  • Develops and maintains controls on data quality and sources to manage risk associated with the use of data and analytics
  • Organizes and leads clinical and quality analytics and constantly improves the organization's capacity to develop insights with advanced analytics
  • Drives the visibility and value proposition of the analytics function by leading complex analytic support for and routinely delivering results and strategic and tactical recommendations to executives, department leaders in the clinical community
  • Develops, implements and continuously enhances a research data platform that ingests data from multiple sources to create a unified system for unstructured, semi-structured, and structured data
  • Designs, develops, constructs, tests, and maintains data pipelines, architectures, and data processing systems to support research and innovation initiatives
