About The Position

Marana Health is seeking a Senior Director of Ancillary Services to join the Pharmacy team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. The Senior Director of Ancillary Services serves as the accountable executive leader for Marana Health’s Pharmacy, WIC, and Radiology service lines. This role is responsible for strategic direction, operational performance, financial management, compliance, quality, and growth of ancillary services across the enterprise. This position ensures services operate in full compliance with HRSA Health Center Program Requirements, 340B Drug Pricing Program regulations, state and federal pharmacy and imaging regulations, and applicable accreditation and payer standards.The Senior Director of Ancillary Services ensures ancillary services operate as high performing, integrated service lines that improve patient access, enhance patient outcomes, support organizational growth, and optimize financial viability. Provides executive leadership over service line strategy, performance management, regulatory compliance, vendor governance, workforce development, and operational integration with medical, behavioral health, dental, and care coordination services. Marana Health is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 11 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare. The following qualifications are required: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or equivalent pharmacy degree. Current Arizona Registered Pharmacist license in good standing. Minimum of 10 years of pharmacy experience. Minimum five (5) years of progressive pharmacy leadership experience. Demonstrated experience managing budgets and operational performance. Minimum three (3) years of senior management or director-level oversight experience. Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license including a clean 39-month MVR, in accordance with organizational requirements. The following qualifications are preferred: Experience in FQHC or integrated healthcare environment. Deep knowledge of 340B program operations and compliance. Experience overseeing multiple service lines. Experience leading radiology or imaging services. Experience managing WIC or public health programs. Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job. This position has the following supervisory responsibility: Director/Executive: Manages and monitors work performance of a division or department through direct reports and their teams, including evaluating work objectives and effectiveness, establishing broad organizational goals, and provisioning work and staffing assignments for the department. The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Advanced knowledge of federal and state pharmacy regulations, including DEA and Arizona Board of Pharmacy requirements. Knowledge of 340B program compliance, audit readiness, and optimization strategies. Working knowledge of federal WIC program requirements and radiology regulatory/accreditation standards sufficient to provide executive oversight and ensure departmental compliance. Strong executive leadership and strategic planning capability, with the ability to translate organizational goals into measurable service line outcomes. Financial management experience including budget development, forecasting, revenue analysis, and variance management across multiple departments. Demonstrated ability to lead through subordinate directors and hold departments accountable to performance metrics. Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills, including interpretation of operational, financial, quality, and compliance dashboards. Experience establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and leading performance improvement initiatives. Excellent communication skills, including executive-level reporting to senior leadership and governing bodies.

Responsibilities

  • Provides executive accountability for the operational, financial, and regulatory performance of Pharmacy, WIC, and Radiology.
  • Develops and executes multi-year service line strategies aligned with organizational goals.
  • Identifies and implements growth opportunities, including new service offerings, expanded access, and improved care integration.
  • Serves as the organizational subject matter expert for ancillary service operations and strategy
  • Directly supervises Pharmacy leadership and provides administrative and strategic oversight to the Directors of WIC and Radiology.
  • Establishes service line priorities and ensures effective execution of departmental goals and initiatives.
  • Reviews performance, financial, and compliance reports to ensure departments meet established standards and organizational expectations.
  • Ensures readiness for audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews across all ancillary departments.
  • Supports the development and implementation of operational improvements to enhance access, efficiency, and quality of care.
  • Partners with executive leadership to align ancillary services with system-wide strategy and long-term planning.
  • Represents ancillary services in executive leadership meetings, regulatory reviews, and governing board reporting as appropriate.
  • Serves as the accountable leader for compliance with all applicable regulatory and program requirements, including:
  • HRSA Health Center Program Requirements
  • 340B Drug Pricing Program regulations
  • State Board of Pharmacy requirements
  • DEA regulations
  • CMS and payer requirements
  • WIC program requirements
  • Radiology regulatory and safety standards
  • Oversees vendor relationships including wholesalers, contract pharmacies, split billing administrators, equipment vendors, and internal service providers.
  • Ensures ancillary services are integrated into organizational quality improvement and patient safety programs.
