Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences or related field and 5 years' experience in non-profit, grant writing/making, public administration, private or corporate foundations or related field OR 8 years' experience in non-profit, grant writing/making, public administration, private or corporate foundations or related field.
  • 4 years' of supervisory experience.
  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment, be self-directed, create strategic framework all while working in complex situations.
  • Influence through communication and partner well with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in corporate philanthropy, ideally managing grant programs including food security, nutrition or food waste; disaster preparedness and relief; and/or local community grantmaking.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop solutions for social problems that align with key funding pillars by connecting with key national leaders to examine critical issues facing the nation.
  • Integrate subject matter knowledge into researching and determining grant making strategies and solutions for relevant topics.
  • Evaluate the impact of grants and programs.
  • Position the company and the Foundation as a leader in corporate giving by establishing and maintaining relationships with key thought leaders in federal, business, and non-profit sectors, major funding partners, and corporations.
  • Provide direct management support of team by providing guidance for team members' external relationships with national and international non-profit organizations that are seeking funding.
  • Provide guidance in building team members' technical knowledge, ability and expertise in grant making processes and concepts.
  • Provide content expertise on social issues the Foundation is addressing.
  • Develop and oversee the Foundation budget by establishing program budget for each area of responsibility.
  • Oversee grant disbursement process and maintain full accountability for all administrative and programmatic expenditures.
  • Oversee the development of giving infrastructure by developing and monitoring systems and processes.
  • Drive legal and ethical compliance with grant making activities and initiate modifications to systems, processes and controls as required.
  • Partner across the business to ensure operational excellence and community impact in disaster relief and food donation programs.
  • Develop and implement strategies to attract and maintain a highly skilled and engaged workforce.
  • Develop and leverage internal and external partnerships and networks to maximize the achievement of business goals.
