About The Position

The Senior Director, Mobile Publishing is a new, high-impact leadership role focused on accelerating the growth for WB Games Boston’s mobile strategy titles, with a primary focus on Game of Thrones: Dragonfire and continued oversight of Game of Thrones: Conquest. This leader will be responsible for driving publishing and growth strategy across user acquisition, product marketing, performance marketing, social, community, and creative services. The role is focused on driving results in the highly competitive mobile strategy category through strong execution, market-informed decision-making, and tight integration across growth levers. This role requires a seasoned mobile publishing leader with deep expertise in free-to-play mobile games, growth strategy, creative performance, and cross-functional execution. You must be passionate about our IP (Game of Thrones), mobile games, and building scalable publishing systems that translate insights and competitive intelligence into results (ROAS & Scale). We’re looking for someone who is both a strategic thinker and a hands-on operator — a leader who can set direction, move quickly, and embed best-in-class mobile publishing and growth practices within the organization. This role is growth-first and partners closely with the development teams who own gameplay and monetization design.

Requirements

  • 8+ years years of experience in mobile free-to-play publishing, growth, or performance marketing roles
  • 5+ years leading teams and cross-functional initiatives
  • Proven success launching and scaling mobile games
  • Strong background working with user acquisition, creative, analytics, marketing and product teams
  • Deep understanding of the mobile ecosystem including platform best practices, monetization trends, store relationships, and privacy/policy impacts (e.g., IDFA, SKAN)
  • Strong understanding of mobile user acquisition and growth fundamentals
  • Ability to evaluate creative performance and translate results into clear direction
  • Hands-on experience with mobile MMPs, attribution tools, and paid media platforms
  • Comfort working with performance data, KPIs, and forecasts
  • Strong cross-functional leadership and communication skills
  • Strong executive presence and ability to present strategic recommendations clearly and persuasively
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities and ambiguity

Nice To Haves

  • Experience scaling live mobile strategy or mid-core games
  • Experience working with IP
  • Exposure to creative automation or GenAI-enabled marketing tools

Responsibilities

  • Mobile Publishing Strategy: Lead mobile publishing strategy and execution from pre-launch through live operations, with a focus on user acquisition effectiveness and publishing readiness. Define publishing priorities, growth plans, and execution strategies based on market performance, acquisition trends, and creative results. Establish the long-term vision and organizational structure for the mobile publishing team.
  • Publishing Operations: Own execution of the mobile publishing function within the studio, setting clear priorities and driving coordination across User Acquisition, Creative Services, Product Marketing, Social & Community, Analytics, Live Ops, and Partner Relations. Work closely with Product and Live Ops leadership to align publishing plans with development timelines and live cadence, ensuring publishing inputs are integrated early and executed consistently from pre-launch through live operations.
  • Growth Accountability: Own publishing budget planning and investment strategy across brand, performance, creative, creator, social, community, and lifecycle campaigns. Partner with Product to define KPIs, forecast performance, and deliver against business targets. Accountable for full-funnel performance from IPMs to ROAS. Define shared accountability and collaboration rhythms across channel owners to ensure performance media is integrated into holistic player journeys.
  • Network & Platform Strategy: Understand platform differences (iOS, Google Play, PC, alternative stores) and how to best optimize our publishing strategy accordingly. Ensure user acquisition and creative strategies are optimized by channel, accounting for differences in user attention, ad formats, and interaction models across networks. Apply channel-specific creative approaches to maximize engagement, ROAS, and scalability.
  • Insights and Data-Driven Decision Making: Use data and market signals to guide investment decisions, creative testing, and product roadmaps. Embrace a performance marketing culture grounded in testing, iteration, and creative experimentation.
  • Team Leadership & Management: Build and lead a high-performing mobile publishing team. Define clear roles, develop talent, and foster a culture of agility, accountability, and creative excellence. Oversee and direct the tasks and progress of both direct and indirect reports, guiding team production as necessary. Ensure team structure supports business priorities.
  • Innovation & Change Management: Be courageous in advocating for and testing innovative new approaches, even when challenged. Champion modern mobile publishing practices and tools — from real-time dashboards to automated creative testing and LTV forecasting. Guide the team to address inefficiencies, flag risks and opportunities, and drive solutions.
