About The Position

The Senior Director for Marketing and Client Services is responsible for overseeing the performance, including budget and revenue, of marketing professionals and multiple growth initiatives who also serves to build, maintain and strengthen the university's relationships with internal and external clients. This position serves as a senior level liaison with university clients and customers, developing relationships, providing guidance and advice ensuring all marketing efforts and needs of respective customers are being met. Consulting on client marketing, media, and communications strategies across all accounts and media channels, ensuring internal client satisfaction and retention, promoting communication and integration across all account teams, and helping to drive growth through excellent service delivery. This role will partner with key stakeholders to provide strategy, identify employer needs and opportunities, deliver solutions, troubleshoot problem areas, as well as take ownership of client satisfaction and experience.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated strategic perspective in marketing and media execution, with extensive agency and healthcare marketing experience.
  • Advanced deep understanding of brand development, brand positioning, brand character, brand architecture, brand standards and creative development.
  • Advanced ability to manage a large team and coordinate staff efforts across multiple clients and projects with competing priorities.
  • Advanced experience evaluating creative strategy and providing creative direction; possess strong creative sensibility balanced with analytical and strategic grounding.
  • Advanced proven project management skills evidenced by the ability to execute brand strategy while leveraging multiple resources, meet deadlines and adhere to budgets.
  • Passionate and excellent people manager with experience overseeing multiple direct reports across account/client services – planners, media buyers, production & creative, etc.
  • Advanced ability to persuade, influence and inspire through verbal and written communication.
  • Demonstrates success interfacing with individuals at multiple levels of a complex organization with a proven history of professionalism and discretion.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the nuances surrounding working in an academic medical center

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading marketing leaders to execute the enterprise omnichannel marketing strategies including brand development, growth of services in health-related academics, recruitment and retention marketing and enterprise biomedical research initiatives, as well as revenue-enhancing initiatives.
  • Offer guidance and strategy to marketing partners as they collaborate with internal clients/stakeholders and external vendors to ensure best-in-class client service as well as deliver client solutions efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide coaching and leadership to marketing partners, who act as the primary client contact for internal customers.
  • Train and coach the team to maintain trusted advisory relationships with client and key stakeholders to enhance the experience for both internal and external customers.
  • Seamlessly integrate university marketing services for six (6) schools, and hundreds of unique clients, units, departments and internal constituents.
  • Actively monitor and partner in designing all expressions of the brand (internal and external) to ensure consistency across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, academic leadership, research leadership, principle investigators, and leadership to build awareness and engagement in the clinical, education, research, and community engagement missions, in alignment with UTHSA’s strategic marketing plan.
  • Set and measure standards for performance in all areas of the department producing and presenting numerous data reports and analysis that evaluate effectiveness and achieve results.
  • Establish clear communication on immediate and time-sensitive matters impacting client benefits and services.
  • Ensure deadlines are met and budgets are managed effectively.
