Senior Director, Marketing – Cell Biology We are looking for a strategic and innovative Marketing leader to join our Cell Biology team. The Cell Biology Business Unit is passionate about enabling our customers to harness the power of cells to improve human health through producing physiologically relevant models, robust protein expression factories, and innovative cell-based therapies. The business spans multiple segments across the Cell Biology workflow, including cell culture, neurobiology, stem cell research, ADME/TOX, protein expression, and Cell & Gene Therapy. How will you make an impact? As the Senior Director of Marketing, you will lead global marketing strategy and execution for the Cell Biology portfolio, owning marketing planning, go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and portfolio positioning to accelerate growth and market leadership. You will guide a high-performing market development team, influence regional marketers globally, and partner closely with business segment leaders to drive integrated, data-driven growth strategies. You will be accountable for end-to-end demand generation, including driving the web purchase funnel and supporting the big deal commercial runnel to exceed financial commitments. This role requires strong cross-functional leadership and partnership with divisional teams including Digital, Brand, Customer Insights, and Analytics to shape priorities, optimize performance, and ensure business unit goals are achieved. This leader will also partner with divisional digital marketing on the development of comprehensive digital marketing and eBusiness strategies, expanding reach into core and adjacent markets while enhancing the digital customer experience and accelerating online revenue growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in life sciences, engineering, or marketing, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant marketing leadership experience in Life Sciences required.
  • Proven track record of building and scaling Life Science markets, with demonstrated success in portfolio strategy, GTM execution, and digital demand generation.
  • Experience leading teams of 10 – 40 colleagues, as well as influencing matrixed and global organizations.
  • Strong ability to translate strategy into execution, with a focus on measurable business outcomes, funnel performance, and revenue growth.
  • Demonstrated ability to partner cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Experience leveraging data, analytics, and customer insights to drive decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to travel globally (~30%) as conditions allow.
  • Highly organized with strong project management capabilities.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and collaborative leadership style.

Responsibilities

  • Own global marketing planning and GTM strategy across the Cell Biology portfolio, ensuring strong alignment to business objectives, revenue targets, and market opportunities.
  • Define and drive portfolio positioning and value propositions, ensuring clear differentiation and alignment to customer needs across segments and applications.
  • Lead new product introduction (NPI) strategy and commercialization, developing scalable launch frameworks that accelerate adoption, penetration, and revenue realization.
  • Drive demand generation and pipeline growth, with accountability for omni-channel performance, including digital, events, and account-based marketing, to exceed bookings and revenue commitments.
  • Own and optimize the digital funnel, including web traffic, conversion, eCommerce revenue, and large deal pipeline development, in close partnership with eBusiness.
  • Partner with Divisional Marketing (Digital, Brand, Customer Research, and Analytics) to influence investment priorities, leverage insights, and continuously improve marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Develop and optimize high-performing teams through clear goals, role clarity, effective communication, and a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of industry-leading marketing programs that drive awareness, customer acquisition, retention, and lifetime value.
  • Develop and accelerate eCommerce and lead generation outcomes through digital channels, including SEO, SEM, social, email, web content, and events.
  • Champion the end-to-end customer experience and journey, ensuring web platforms, content, tools, and merchandising strategies drive engagement and conversion.
  • Shape and execute long-term brand strategy and positioning in partnership with corporate marketing to strengthen brand equity and loyalty.
  • Develop and deploy impactful customer-facing materials, campaigns, and enablement tools to support commercial success.
  • Lead educational initiatives in partnership with FAS and Services to increase product adoption, customer engagement, and brand affinity.
