About The Position

At SoFi, we're not just redefining how people manage their money—we're engineering the future of financial well-being. As our Senior Director of IT Operations, you'll do more than oversee systems and services—you'll architect the strategy that powers seamless operations and innovation across our global enterprise. This role is a rare opportunity to build what's next, not just maintain what is. You'll lead a high-impact, globally distributed team, drive continuous improvement through technology and process innovation, and play a critical role in delivering scalable, secure, and employee-centric experiences. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel at inspiring teams, and love turning complexity into clarity—this is your moment.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership in IT operations, including 5+ years in a senior global role.
  • Proven experience managing complex, matrixed organizations and third-party IT vendors.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise IT support, service management frameworks (ITIL, COBIT), and modern ITSM tools (ServiceNow preferred).
  • Strong track record of evaluating and adopting emerging technologies to deliver business value.
  • Inspiring leadership style focused on mentorship, diversity, and team growth.
  • Confident communicator with executive presence and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluent in navigating diverse geographies and multicultural teams.
  • BS/MS in IT, InfoSec, or related discipline—or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with HR systems such as Workday and exposure to AI/ML automation platforms.
  • Experience in the Financial Services / Banking industries.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a forward-thinking operations strategy that supports SoFi's bold business goals.
  • Shape a high-performing, inclusive, and globally distributed organization.
  • Collaborate across Engineering, InfoSec, Facilities, and HR to solve enterprise challenges with agility and accountability.
  • Lead the charge in adopting automation, AI/ML insights, and modern self-service tools.
  • Refine and scale incident management frameworks that ensure fast, effective resolution with minimal disruption.
  • Partner with HR and People Tech to co-create technology experiences that empower employees from onboarding to offboarding.
  • Manage and optimize the IT operations budget with precision.

Benefits

  • Base pay range: $188,800.00 - $324,500.00
  • Eligible for a bonus and long-term incentives.
  • Comprehensive and competitive benefits.
