About The Position

As we expand our global footprint and unlock new opportunities across markets, the need for clear strategic leadership has never been greater.   The Senior Director, International Strategy serves as the head strategist for Hershey’s International business. This role partners directly with the President of International and the General Managers across markets to shape where and how Hershey competes globally. As a member of the International Leadership Team and the Enterprise Strategy Leadership Team, this leader plays a critical role in defining the long-term growth agenda, driving strategic clarity across regions, and ensuring execution against the highest-impact opportunities.   This is a highly visible role for a seasoned strategy leader who thrives at the intersection of enterprise thinking, commercial realities, and global market complexity.

Requirements

  • 12–15+ years of combined experience in a leading CPG company, top-tier strategy consulting firm, or a combination of both.
  • Significant experience in corporate strategy, international strategy, or global business leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success influencing senior executives and leading strategy in complex, matrixed organizations.
  • Strong understanding of global market dynamics, commercial strategy, and P&L management.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional initiatives across geographies.
  • Proven ability to operate at both a strategic altitude and a practical execution level.
  • People leadership experience and the ability to lead through influence across markets and teams.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or equivalent marketplace experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Play a central role in the development and execution of Hershey’s 3-year Enterprise Strategic Plan.
  • Lead International strategy development, business development initiatives, and scenario modeling.
  • Independently scope, structure, and lead high-impact strategy projects.
  • Lead complex problem solving and address critical strategic issues and decisions facing the enterprise.
  • Maintain a strong external mindset, synthesizing consumer, customer, competitive, and macroeconomic trends to inform strategic choices and challenge internal assumptions.
  • Lead team to synthesize and analyze multiple internal and external data sources (POS, household panel, inventory, shipments, P&L statements, market trends, competitive insights) to develop clear business recommendations.
  • Develop executive-level presentations for the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, and Board of Directors.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams from beginning to end, providing direction, structure, and mentorship to indirect team members.
  • Directly lead and develop team members by setting clear expectations, coaching for performance, and building future enterprise leaders.
  • Own talent development outcomes for the team, including performance management, capability building, and succession planning.
  • Be recognized as an established leader and consultative partner among senior leaders across functions.
