The Senior Director, Institute, will lead and facilitate a multidisciplinary team focused on driving performance and improvement in several key areas: provider management, patient volume, access, and productivity; financial performance at the patient encounter level; service line strategy and growth; and quality improvement, including patient experience. This leadership role is critical in aligning operational, clinical, and strategic objectives to support the overall success of the institute. This role will support NE Ohio for Pulmonary critical care and provide guidance to the Florida Market for Pulmonary Critical Care. A caregiver in this position works days, 8:00am—5:00pm. No weekends or holidays.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related field.
  • 7 years of progressively responsible experience including supervisory experience.
  • Previous supervisory or management experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Critical thinking skills and decisive judgement.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree (may substitute two years of the experience requirement).
  • Experience managing provider practices, including oversight of daily operations, scheduling, staffing, and coordination of clinical and administrative workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with physicians and healthcare professionals across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical areas with high complexity as determined by the Enterprise Chief of Staff Office complexity guidelines and factors.
  • Lead and facilitate a team focused on provider management, volume, access, productivity, service line financial performance, service line strategy and growth, quality improvement, and patient experience.
  • Ensure team partners with ambulatory operations for inbound and outbound patient scheduling.
  • Partner with Ambulatory Operations and Access Team to optimize scheduling algorithms and standard work.
  • Work closely with local teams to meet patient needs and growth targets.
  • Implement practice support models and ensure coordination between local provider support teams.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for service line financial performance and improvement opportunities.
  • Initiate and monitor improvement initiatives for service line financial performance.
  • Evaluate profitability of services at each location to inform appropriate site of service.
  • Consult market and shared services on opportunities for revenue enhancement and cost reduction.
  • Develop a long-term service line strategy in partnership with the Executive Director.
  • Assess service line demand and competition within a given market.
  • Partner with Quality, Patient Safety and Experience teams to execute objectives and key results.
  • Ensure adoption of Institute based quality systems and metrics.
