About The Position

As the lead of the Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) communication team in South San Francisco, you will be the primary scientific communication partner for the head of gRED as well as lead a team of communication professionals accountable for the functional communications and employee engagement strategies across gRED. As a part of the global Roche Communications community, the Head of Internal Communications for Genentech Research and Early Development (gRED) is an agile leader - responsible for leading, overseeing and guiding the development, implementation and execution of integrated, internal strategic communications programs and collaborating within networks across Genentech and Group Communications. You will coach communications colleagues and work to catalyze an environment of best practice exchange, breaking down silos, enabling the team to deliver compelling audience-centric communication that increases employee engagement across gRED. In this role, you will help the team focus its resources on the highest-value projects and content for the internal audiences we serve, while ensuring alignment with strategic business priorities. To deliver consistent, engaging and effective gRED communications around science and innovation, the Head of Internal Communications will support and collaborate closely with the broader Genentech and Roche Internal Communications communities. This role reports into the VP & Head of gRED Business Operations and Communications and leads a team of up to 9 communications professionals. This position may require international travel up to 10%.
