The Senior Director of Program Management will provide strategic oversight and execution of complex, multidisciplinary program(s) for our most strategic customers. This role serves as the client’s most trusted orchestrator and go-to person; unites sites and functions to turn complexity into clarity and makes the appropriate trade- off decisions based upon adequate risk management. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Engineering, Pharmacy or related field is required.
  • 15+ years total professional experience, including 10+ years leading complex global programs/portfolios
  • 8y+ experience in CDMO or pharmaceutical industry, with a preference for biologics manufacturing and/or advanced therapy
  • Proven experience of working with complex, global clients
  • Demonstrated success in program management at global level
  • Experience in coaching and leading global, virtual teams
  • Strong financial acumen (budgeting, margin management, risk/opportunity analysis); adept at contract/change management and scenario planning

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in life science is preferred.
  • PgMP or PMP certification.
  • Experience building global program governance frameworks and standard work.
  • Familiarity with biologics manufacturing modalities (e.g., mAbs, viral vectors, cell therapies) and tech transfer in GMP environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop virtual program teams, to drive accountability, collaboration, inclusion, and high performance across geographies and sites. Collaborate closely with the Global Account Lead to grow and build a strong partnership for life.
  • Serve as the principal customer liaison and executive point of contact, build robust, trustful relationships based upon transparent communication, establishing governance and aligning outcomes to client objectives. Engage with executives and other external partners to understand client needs, align and address concerns promptly if needed for which the role establishes the appropriate processes and governance.
  • Financial ownership and commercial stewardship: own program P&L elements (budget, margin, cash flow), conduct scenario planning, drive change orders/contract amendments, and ensure cost/schedule/quality targets.
  • Strategic program planning and portfolio governance: establish multi-year roadmaps, define scope/benefits, resource plans, ensure alignment to organizational strategy and global priorities.
  • Enterprise risk management: Continuously identify, assess, and mitigate program risks across technical, supply, regulatory, and commercial domains to ensure reliable delivery; implement controls, contingencies, and escalation pathways.
  • Program Progress Monitoring: Oversee milestones, deliverables, interdependencies and critical path using program management tools to track progress and identify risks, gaps, or roadblocks early, meeting quality requirements, timelines and budget. Report performance to internal ELT and clients as requested/required.
  • Continuous improvement and operational excellence: drive standardization, lessons learned, and process improvements to raise customer experience, speed, and quality (Lean/Six Sigma mindset).
  • Talent development and coaching: build capabilities in program management; mentor PMs, reinforce governance, and succession plan for critical roles.
  • Strategic business development support: partner with Global Account Leads and BD on proposals, solution design, pricing strategies, and win themes for key pursuits.
  • Executive stakeholder reporting by synthesizing insights and recommendations for the ELT. Inform investment decisions and strategic prioritization.
  • And all other duties as assigned.
