The Role The Senior Director, Global Market Access & Pricing, Solid Tumor provides strategic leadership and accountability for the development and execution of differentiated global market access and pricing strategies across one or more oncology assets and/or portfolios. This role is responsible for shaping how Genmab demonstrates and realizes the value of its solid tumor pipeline to HTA bodies and payers globally, ensuring optimal and sustainable patient access. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in global market access and pricing strategy, strong analytical and strategic capabilities, and a comprehensive understanding of U.S., EU, and Japan healthcare systems, payer preferences, and evolving policy dynamics. The Senior Director acts as a senior thought leader and strategic partner across the organization, influencing clinical development, evidence generation, launch planning, and lifecycle strategy. This position is hybrid based in Princeton, NJ (US) and reports to the VP, Global Market Access Head. Work arrangement : This role offers flexibility to work away from the office for 20%–40% of a typical schedule. Employees may use this work schedule in increments of single days or multiple consecutive days, provided it does not exceed 40% within a 60-day period, and is approved by the hiring manager.

Requirements

  • PhD, PharmD, MD, or MSc in a relevant field (Health Economics, Public Health, Health Policy, or related discipline).
  • 15+ years of relevant market access and pricing experience within biopharma, including significant international exposure and demonstrated leadership at a global level.
  • Deep expertise in oncology pricing and reimbursement, with demonstrated experience in one or more major HTA markets (e.g., UK, Germany, France).
  • Strong experience with global pricing strategy development, early pricing analysis, and launch pricing; hands-on experience with country-level pricing negotiations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated success influencing early global development plans to meet downstream payer and HTA evidence requirements.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing compelling global value propositions and access strategies.
  • Strong understanding of global policy trends and HTA dynamics, including regional developments such as JCA and IRA.
  • Experience making strategic market access recommendations across multiple assets and stages of development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, both directly and through influence in a matrix environment.
  • Proven thought leadership and executive-level communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions across senior stakeholders.
  • Fluency in English required; additional language proficiency is a strong advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including communication, presentation, collaboration, persuasion, and influence.
  • Willingness to challenge conventional thinking and drive innovation in market access and pricing approaches.

Responsibilities

  • Provide senior leadership for the development of Global Integrated Market Access and Pricing strategies in collaboration with cross-functional teams to maximize the value of assigned asset(s) and/or portfolio.
  • Serve as a key strategic advisor to global clinical development teams, ensuring programs are optimized to meet the needs of global payers and HTA bodies (e.g., endpoints, trial design, sub-populations, evidence of cost offsets) by incorporating payer and HTA insights gained through early HTA engagement, advisory boards, primary payer research, and secondary data analysis.
  • Lead the articulation and evolution of global value propositions, ensuring alignment across clinical, commercial, regulatory, medical affairs, and HEOR functions.
  • Proactively identify global and regional evidence requirements for successful access and provide strategic direction to evidence generation plans in close collaboration with HEOR and Medical Affairs.
  • Partner closely with Global and Regional/Local Market Access teams to drive governance, alignment, efficiency, and best-practice sharing across markets.
  • Monitor, analyze, and communicate global market access, pricing, and policy trends, competitor activities, and HTA evolution (e.g., JCA, IRA) to anticipate future market dynamics and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Provide leadership oversight for global pricing strategy development, including early pricing analyses, launch pricing recommendations, and price-access trade-off scenarios.
  • Influence and oversee global launch readiness, including access timelines, pricing targets, HTA submissions, and overall launch success.
  • Lead or provide senior oversight for Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) planning and submission activities, as applicable.
  • Act as a role model and mentor within the Global Market Access & Pricing organization, contributing to capability building and talent development.
  • Be a true, inspiring leader with strong team management capabilities, shaping the future of the Global Market Access & Pricing function and developing future market access leaders within the organization (currently 2 direct reports).
