About The Position

Marriott International is entering a new chapter of growth and evolution. The Senior Director, Global Creative will lead the development and execution of the creative strategy, creative concepts, brand identity, visual identity, print, collateral, and on-property branded items for the brands within the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio. The Senior Director, Global Creative will lead an internal creative team and manage external creative agencies in the development of breakthrough marketing and experience efforts in partnership with the brand teams. The Senior Director, Global Creative must excel in highly conceptual design and display an aptitude for strategic thinking for brands and audiences. The role will be a core member of Riott Haus Creative, the in-house creative agency at Marriott International. This role will lead a team of creatives (art, copy, video, & design) to produce work that exceeds the brand team’s expectations. The Senior Director, Global Creative should have a well-rounded approach to developing marketing and experiential elements expressed through all mediums including TV, Print, OOH, Digital, Social, & Experiential. This role requires expert storyteller skills and someone who can fashion award-winning narratives that build the brand through all mediums and delivers a unique experience. The job includes hands-on development to ensure that all collateral (e.g., photo-shoots, illustrations, digital imaging, etc.) follows both brand and industry standards.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Graphic Design, Art Advertising, Product Design, Advertising, or related field
  • 12+ years of art direction and design demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance
  • 5+ years of experience as a Creative Director for brands
  • Experience leading consumer marketing campaigns with a focus on TV, Print, OOH & Social
  • Demonstrated experience with digital marketing and advertising design execution
  • Demonstrated experience with Social Media marketing, content, and advertising
  • In-depth and current understanding of design trends and industry best practices
  • In-depth and current understanding of social platforms, devices and trends

Responsibilities

  • Strategy and execution of creative initiatives
  • Leads the creative concepting and execution of creative initiatives for Marriott brands.
  • Ensures that creative meets brand guidelines and production standards.
  • Supervises the execution of new art such as photo-shoot, illustrations, digital imaging, etc.
  • Organizes and prioritizes the creative process so the approval process will not be delayed
  • Works closely with entire internal team to develop effective, impactful ideas based on tactical plan.
  • Oversees and implements visual strategy and workflow of digital marketing and advertising campaigns supporting the brand strategy.
  • Manages agency / freelance resources and oversees strategic initiatives related to digital and social strategy for assigned brands.
  • Consults and partners with stakeholders to provide expertise
  • Develops strong relationships with Marriott subject matter experts and channel leaders, agencies, media and distribution partners to cost-effectively maximize opportunities for the brand while ensuring high quality on-strategy creative is delivered.
  • Monitors and reports out on industry best practices and competitive/landscape trends.
  • Partners with internal and external PR teams to ensure tight integration and holistic campaigns.
  • Assists senior associates in achieving business results by identifying opportunities to enhance processes.
  • Participates in annual planning sessions.
